  1. Cheers Pete, yeah I am pleased with it, just so much nicer to drive now! Really highlighted how crap the standard map was. Had to travel down to Gloucester with work today, was great on the motorway much stronger overtaking power. It's been mapped for 97+ Ron, but I already use that religiously anyway. Its not been on the rollers so I couldn't tell you exact figures. Andrew said (and don't quote me on this in case I misheard anything he said!) the standard boost was 0.9 which he's increased to 1.1. The standard figures are 255bhp and 288lb-ft, so I'm now maybe around the 275bhp and 320lb-ft. Bearing in mind it's the stock exhaust so I certainly wouldn't expecting to be making more than that. As I say, the extra power, whatever that may be, is almost an added bonus, it was worth it just for the smoother/stronger power delivery. As I said in original post, anyone who has this model seriously needs to consider a remap. I really struggled to find information on the WRX-S, so thought this may be useful info for fellow owners.
  2. Had my WRX-S (hatchback) remapped at Pole Position today by Andrew Carr. Top bloke, took his time, drove the car and checked everything was spot on before and after. Pulls really nice now, plus the car used to have a slight hesitation low down in the rev range, but that's now gone. It's smooth and crisp now. I have no other mods (except a Cosworth panel filter which they fitted for me today too), aside that I have the stock prodrive exhaust set up that comes with the WRX-S, so the cars not silly fast, but the extra grunt is definitely noticeable. I would strongly recommend to anyone who has the same model - It goes as fast as it looks now, and much smoother power delivery! Would defo recommend Andrew and Pole Position (Willenhall), all know their stuff!
  3. Really helpful info here, really appreciate it! I'll defo drop Cusco a message thanks for that! Checked out the link and those subaru 4 pots look awesome! I think you're right about the 100pcd Salsa! Looks like I'm guan have to bite the bullet and upgrade the lot! ...why the f didn't I just buy an sti?! Ha!
  4. Hi Pete, thanks for reply! Just found these at subaru4you http://www.subaru4you.co.uk/brakes/calip4pot.shtml Spoke to the guy and he thinks these would fit the discs I have (he's going to double check though).
  5. Hi all, not sure if all WRX-S hatchbacks come with 2 pot calipers at the front, but my 2008 model does! They look ugly as hell, corroded/rusty looking and the stopping power isn't exactly amazing. Can anyone tell me how easy (or not) it would be to upgrade to 4 pots? I have the standard 18" prodrive GT1 anthracite alloys so some nice new red calipers would look the business. Am I best going to a subaru specialist? Don't really want my pants pulled down by the dealership! Or will I find it's same price wherever I go? Struggling to find a price on the internet other than reconditioned calipers?! Any help of advice appreciated! Cheers.
  6. Just seen this, looks awesome! :-) What alloys are those? And are they 18"? They look absolutely class! Thinking of changing mine, I have the anthracite grey prodrive GT1's at the moment but they are knackered up, so would like to change them! Thanks.
  7. Does anyone have this? See link: http://www.haywardandscott.com/subaru-h-and-s-new-age-backbox.html My current exhaust is the standard prodrive set up that comes with the WRX-S hatchback, but it doesn't have that classic sound. I don't want a loud 'shouty' exhaust, but I'd really like to get closer to the distinctive Subaru burble. Can anyone recommend a back box that will give me this? Thanks.
  8. Hi all, just bought a 58 plate WRX-S, absolutely love it, it's my first Scooby! Anyway, feels like it could easily deal with more power so fancy a stage 1 remap. I'm not fussed about any other mods, the car is currently standard. I know as standard the 'S' model has already had a bit of Prodrive treatment at the factor such as exhaust and mapping etc, however, does anyone know what kind of potential gain I could get from a stage 1 ecu remap alone? Seems Hard to find information specifically about the WRXS model. My previous car was an Astra VXR which was totally standard except I had it remapped and I really noticed the difference, so I'd like to do the same with the Scooby! I'm in Wolverhampton, if anyone has any recommendations of tuners local to me I'd be grateful.
