  1. Hello all, I suspect my front right driveshaft has an inner CV joint failure (the boot failed a couple of months ago ( I thought I noticed in time) and now there is wobble under acceleration). I have found a replacement shaft but it is for a 2.0l version. Will this fit my model? For clarification my car is a 2007 2.5l outback, the part is from a 2008 legacy. Many thanks for your advice Greg
  2. I had a quick flick through that is perfect thanks.
  3. Update, I drove from Bournemouth to Nottingham and back last night to collect my spare key (yes as pictured above) and my code. Luckily the spare key worked so I am now back on the road. The first key still doesn't work, does it now need replacing? I will get home before I try anything with the code, but is there any guides on how to use the code and the key? Mr B you mentioned that it is possible to re-program the code, although I'm sure it is simple I would like to read a guide first as the consequences of !Removed! it up I assume will be very steep financially. Many thanks for all your help yesterday. Although there was little I could do, at least I knew that and thanks to you guys I was able to do something about it.
  4. Oh yes have a spare key at home not here.
  5. Tried to disconnect the battery, and left it for 30 min before retrying this didnt help. But thanks very much for your responses.
  6. No problem, when I saw the keypad I thought this would be the case. Usefully my V5 is at home. Do you think this problem will be solved with the correct code? Any idea why for no apparent reason the car will suddenly drop its code?
  7. Im considering driving home (6 hour round trip) in a friends car to see if the code is in the service book. I have called subaru who say they dont hold the codes on Subaru UK do who wont be able to get back to me until Tuesday after the Easter weekend :(
  8. Car battery was changed last summer as was the key battery (I changed it because the range was poor and hoped this would improve the range, unfortunatly it just seems that Subaru have a woeful range). When it stopped working today my first option was to re-change the battery in the key just in case, but no change. I have since discovered a key pad in the fuse box area, but don't have the code.
  9. Hi, I am with family for Easter. The alarm on my Subaru is going off. I can unlock the car with the key, but the button does not work. So my alarm goes off and the immobilser wont let the engine start. When I turn the key ignition lights do turn on. I have recently changed the battery, but changed it again this morning to be safe. As I am away I am desperate to get the car working again. Please help Greg
  10. 1. Triple QX oil from "ECP" and "car parts for less" is very cheap, £13 for 5l fully syth. Heard it is made by Shell just not paid all the extortionate VAG, MB, volvo, BMW, GM.....etc approval prices. Anyone got an opinion on this oil? At this price may change my oil more often, even a low price oil changed more often is better than a over priced oil changed on time? 2. Should my 2.5l outback have semi of full synth? I thought fully synth was always better. Dont want to open a oil can of worms. And please no "put the best you can afford in" or I swear by castrol/magnatec/helix/etc. I have just spent the last 6 months in Africa and seen some real sheds still racking up the miles. Am i supposed to believe that a guy struggling to put food on his families table is going to spend a month's wages + on oil? These cars are still banging on.

  12. Anyone got one of these kicking around? My car came with out one.
  13. No dramas. Hope you get it sorted
  14. Excellent thanks for the advice
  15. Yeah a one off would be cheaper. But if I buy the tool I hope it will save in the long run, if i buy the multi car then its a tool for life. I am starting to see these diagnostic readers as essentaial as a socket set for the tool box. Should have explained my issue is the HID self leveling lights. I have a warning light illuminated (obviously lol or I wouldn't need the tool). Looked under the car and the front bracket was broken, the light used to be intermittent now is on all the time? Wanted to see what the issue is. Don't want to fork out £120+ for a new switch unit when I can make a new bracket for pennies.
