  1. XV 2013 Auto. This morning after first cold night -5c. engine stated no problems but heating controls not working. The heating info panel is blanked out, front and rear demister switches not working and heater and blower control not working. I presume there must be a frozen relay somewhere, any suggestions which one and where is it and of course I may be totally wrong? Just checked again outside temp now 6c and all started working again? adrian
  2. I am installing a Kenwood DNX7240BT sat nav unit into my 2013 XV and at the moment have one particular question. How does one connect the OEM installed reversing camera to the Kenwood display. At the moment the reversing camera uses the central MFD to display the picture. I suppose what I want to know is which wires do I have to disconnect from the MFD connector to reconnect to the Kenwood camera sockets? I don't find the Subaru wiring diagram very easy to interpret on this matter.
  3. Many thanks Dogconker, do you think it was just too hard to put this information in the manual or is it just the people Subaru employ? Subaru's are really good vehicles but they do make and present us with some ridiculous situations. Anyway thanks for sorting me out.
  4. OK I have found a hidden keypad inside the fuse box. Using this as per the book with the ignition on I pressed 2 turned off ignition exited the vehicle and locked the doors with my keypad. Now the problem is there is nothing to tell me whether the internal movement detection system is set because the warning bleep system seems to be turned off, how can I turn the bleeps back on without travelling to a dealer? What a ridiculous over the top system where one has to remove facia panels to access the silly little keypad which is located down by your right knee hanging by a bit of wire.
  5. Hi I have a certificate in my hand which says the vehicle has ' Thatcham Category One Alarm/Imobiliser' XV & Impreza, Forester & Sports Coupe 2011 Model Year Onward: I also have serial number of the unit and PIN codes. The nearest Subaru garage where I bought the vehicle is about 50 miles from where I live so it's difficult to go and see them.
  6. My main problem is trying to turn off the internal movement sensors for my dog. I follow the instructions " turn on ignition, press transmitter button once led should flash once but it does not, then vacate vehicle and press transmitter again when vehicle should lock and make 8 flashes, it does not it flashes only once". This is the most complicated alarm system I have ever come across in my whole life, if one cannot set it it is useless?
  7. Can some one explain to me in simple English how I should have my alarm system set, Valet Mode, Passive or what ever, I find the manual confusing to say the least. I have a real key for the engine and electronic for locking doors. I also want to be able to lock the vehicle with the internal sensors 'off' because of my dog.
  8. Hi Dug Did you cut/trim the plastic panel at the back by the lock catch to allow the wheel to drop right into the well? What did you use to build up around the wheel, I am thinking of foam? Adrian
  9. Right I now have a full sized XV wheel and tyre and here is where I found it at Nippon Auto Spares, Derby, DE24 8AG, tel. 01332 293399, email sales@nipponautospares.com. These guys are most helpful and I received the next day. Now to see about mounting it without loosing too much interior space, will post photo when done.
  10. Hi Dug now you have a surplus of XV original wheels would you be interested in selling one? Adrian.kendrick@gmail.com
  11. OK guys I have bought on eBay an unused Impreza WRX STi Newage 17" Space Saver wheel and tyre so hopefully I am fixed for all eventualities now. Adrian
  12. Hi Dug, can you give any tips on how you got sorted and have you got a full size wheel and tyre on board without problem. Any help would be appreciated. Adrian.
  13. Does anybody know where one can get spare wheels / kits for the XV? I really don't look forward to being trapped in the middle of no where without one.
