Thanks Jay, it's possibly one of the best available. I'm a bit of an anorak when it comes to my cars and spent an absolute fortune using only genuine Subaru part servicing and maintaining it. The paintwork took me almost 2 weeks to detail and I was astonished to find there was a blue metallic fleck to the paint when the detailing was completed and the sun shone on it, I honestly thought it was a non metallic black paint job A few more pictures

One of the quickest ways to wear out an engine and components is to start the vehicle once a week for 5 or 10 minutes. The engine never gets up to full working temperature therefore causing excess wear and tear, the carbon build up inside the engine will eventually cause poor running issues and excessive fuel consumption. There is also the added caveat that if it is a diesel vehicle the DPF would soon fill up and never have the chance of burning the soot causing further problems. Best just stick the battery conditioner on once every week or two for few hours to keep the battery topped up and when you do take the vehicle out don't just take it to the local shops and back, go for a good run to get everything up to temperature

That's when refitting a battery, if it isn't fully charged the battery management on the Audi will throw an error and not allow the car to start. Again nothing to do with this situation

To connect batteries in a series, you need to use jumper wire to connect the negative terminal of the first battery to the positive terminal of the second battery. This would give you a 24V output, so has absolutely nothing to do with this situation

No you'll be fine connecting onto the negative battery post

Get yourself a CTek charger and if you don't use the car on a regular basis you can charge the battery once a week for a few hours and all should be fine. Even though they are advertised as 'intelligent chargers' do not leave it charging the battery for weeks on end as it will eventually destroy the battery. Great thanks stants, I already have a genuine Vagcom lead for my Audi so can I use that for the Subaru and if so where do I get the software to run it on the Subaru? I'm not very clued up on these things so a link to software would be great

Looking for a diagnostics tool for my 2009 SH Forester diesel. Would like something that will clear faults and able reset oil dilution values after a service Would prefer something that isn't phone based What do you guys recommend?

I fitted Michelin Crossclimate to my Forester over a year ago and they have been faultless in that time. They've had several trips into the Scottish Highlands during the winter last year through Rannoch Moor and Glencoe

Not that I'm aware of, it's really a pretty basic crap system with no adjustments.

OEM sensors are Waeco labelled as Subaru

2010 Forrester SH with genuine Subaru brakes but as I only use the car occasionally I find the brakes poor compared to my other vehicle, it seems the pads don't have enough stopping power to give me confidence in them. Does anyone know of any upgraded pads they could recommend
