  3. Hi there I need a new Fuel Pressure Regulator for my 2000 Outback EJ251 2.5 SOHC. I cannot find a part number or anywhere that sells them. Any help would be appreciated
  4. Sorry, I was meant to say I have done that and no sign of any smoke.
  5. OK, so I have booked a leak down test however it looks like the oil control rings are either gunked/stuck or worn out. So I am going to look at replacing the oil control rings, however I have a number of questions: 1) Is it worth replacing the compression rings at the same time? 2) if yes to the above with the cylinder walls need a hone? 3) Will I need oversized rings or the standard OEM sized ones?
  6. HI all and apologies from the outset for my lack of Subaru knowledge Please could somebody tell me what generation outback I have. The chassis/vin number is JF1BH9KJBYG017305 which I have always thought is a Gen 2 model (BH) However looking at this wiki page it says that it is a Gen 3. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Legacy#Third_generation_.281998.E2.80.932004.29_.E2.80.93_BE.2C_BH.2C_BT Could somebody please confirm? Thanks
  7. Thanks for the reply. The rings were not replaced. I have checked the compression on all cylinder and all good and within 2psi of each other. Could this still mean the rings are worn/knackered? Other thank the loss of oil the engine is very strong and feels super tight.
  8. Hi allI hope you can helpI have a 2000 Outback EJ25 SOHC Manual I have recently had the head gaskets replaced, valve steam seals replaced, new cam/crank seals ect ect .I have not had it long so I do not the full history with regards to the head gaskets leaking/over heating but the engine now runs sweet as a nut and have no leaks what so ever.No noticeable blue or white smoke either however...................It using so much oil. From my understanding the capacity is 4.5L. I find I the oil level is at MIN after around 500miles of driving after making sure it is at MAX.This seems way too high.Any advise or help on what to check would be very much appreciated

  10. Hi all New to this Subaru marlarky so hopefully you kind folks can help. I am looking for a replacement crank pulley for my EJ25 Outback engine as the original one is looking worse for wear. Is it possible to get lightweight/aftermarket crank pulleys for the engine? Of course I have seen loads of options for STis ect bit not for this engine. Another question is as I have stripped down my engine and replaced the Head Gaskets I need a diagram showing all the bretaher hoses ect and where they go. Does such a diagram exist as I can find one. In particular I am looking for something that shows where the breather pipes from the rocker covers goes and also the block breather (see below) . Thanks
