  2. I think other Subaru drivers think it's a Toyota or something, especially without the hood scoop. You could try suddenly downshifting when turning, or turning the opposite way, braking and sudden change in steering while accelerating. All about getting the weight to the front.   4. I normally use the D-3-2-1 to downshift when braking, my girlfriend has a manual Impreza sport special and she prefers driving my auto legacy after doing a 12 hour shift and getting stuck in Lowestoft traffic. Maybe she'd be up for a swap ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  6. I've read connecting to the battery negative could (although unlikely) fry delicate electrical parts, but that's when jumping from another car. I guess connecting to the earth would put a serial connection to the battery and not a parallel connection? When reading up on a 2006ish Audi I saw that when connecting a battery it should be fully charged, to do with a 'battery management' computer. Did you not drive it because you were on holiday? If not and you leave it standing often, it's good to start it for 5 or 10 so minutes every week or so, get fluids circulating and pumping the oil around the inside of the engine.   7. I drive an older 2.5 legacy, about to hit 200,000 miles. Constant start stop driving, only real problem I had was the back of the starter motor cracked making a loose connection, some ball joints and arb bushings. Also I never get waved at by other Subaru drivers :| when driving my girlfriends Impreza I get waved at all the time :| I find that annoying. She finds it funny. Anyway I like the look of yours, maybe look to get the windows tinted? 'Jess' would be a good name for your second wife, looking at the reg plate ;) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  9. With the renewal they just keep they same insurance company, if by refreshing you mean calling them and rechecking, then guess it could be cheaper because one has a better no claims discount? I pay about £35ish a month for a 2001 2.5NA legacy, 31 years old. Don't really know how many months I'm paying for the year so don't know how much per year without looking for it! Was about £60 ish, renewal was around the same, but that was the best insurer they found for my previous details. Had to call up and get them to search around to bring it back down.   11. I'm with Hastings. If you've made some changes, they will shop around for the cheapest with those changes applied, when renewal time comes they just keep you with the same company. You could try calling them to see if they could make it cheaper by asking them if they could use same details (if nothing's changed) and if they could search through their list of insurance companies Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  13. Found this on YouTube, On a warm engine . Did you get some black smoke out the exhaust every now and then with the dirty maf? If it was running rich, probably got a load of soot in places. If you are sure it's running alright, maybe just flooring it with a warmed engine on the motorway would clean it out. Any excuse ey :) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. I used several intake cleaners which didn't work but the egr cleaner worked on the maf (Nissan) . I think shining a torch at it a lot at night time and excessive swearing also helped ;) Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
