  1. Fitted an induction kit to my car the other day mainly for the sound. I loved it untill i went out for a spirited drive and threw a code, "running lean" so now I'm faced with putting the old box back on. Is there anyway I can get the sound without throwing a code?? I'd love to keep the induction kit as it looks so tidy in the engine bay
  2. I've got a 04 forester 160k miles doing 21mpg seems low but planning a remap after I've changed a few bits. Is it possible to get more power and better mpg? I'm not wanting to sound like a fool when I'm talking to the mapper
  3. Looking at a cheap stealth exhaust set up so planning on purchasing a second hand sti exhaust and a decat downpipe for the forester. 3 questions that I can't seem to answer 1. What is the bore size of the sti exhaust 2. will any bore size downpipe fit the sti exhaust e.g. 3" down into 2.5" mid 3. My car has 3 cats, 1 in the up pipe and 2 in the down pipe by removing the 2 downpipe ones will my car fail emissions i understand id be more beneficial removing the uppipe cat and then sports cat downpipe but Im planning on swapping the turbo next year which will make changing the uppipe easier so for now looking at a quick easy job with a cheap decat downpipe
  4. Looking at getting myself a new age Impreza sports cat downpipe and straight through centre pipe. The plan is to keep the original forester back box. I have a 54 forester. Will a single sports cat without a remap pass MOT and will all these parts fit my car
  5. So managed to convince the better half that a remap is purely for better fuel economy and been given the green light. My car is quite high mileage so not looking at pushing too much through it but decided I'd be better off fitting a sports cat down pipe before mapping. Is it possible to just fit a sports cat down pipe and leave the rest standard? I know wrx exhausts should fit so that's what I'm looking at fitting
  6. Just what I wanted to hear, I'm sure the suspension can be swapped as well though. Anyway the reason for asking about the sti engine mods is that I read after fitting intercooler, catless downpipe and turbo all from an sti you can also fit an 04 sti ecu which should run it up to a decent bhp. All that cost roughly less than a good remap alone making it a rather exciting idea
  7. Hi new to subarus and to the forum. I've just been searching for ways to get a little more power out of the forester and continuously keep coming across sti mods. This seems a great idea and cost effective but when I do my research they seem to only allow for 2.5 engines, I have a 2.0 2004 does that mean I can't use any sti engine parts on my car?
