  1. Hi all. Well I don't know where to start but I have an Impreza wrx gb270. About 4 months ago I noticed on my front tyres that they was worn badly on the inner edge. The rear ones was worn evenly but the tread was low so it was time to replace them all. I had a full set of Bridgestone tyres fitted and new drop links on the front then had 4 wheel alignment as I thought the tracking was out badly with the tyres wear. But when it was all up on the computer screen it showed that the tracking was not far out, the cambers was very slightly out but nothing major and they were all equal. Now I'm hearing a clunk noise from the front area when I'm going over a bump and hear like a creeking noise too. But this is not happening every time had a look under the car today to try a pry bar on the bushes ect...but everything seems solid, then I noticed the 4 months old tyres on the front only are very worn on the inner edge again. Any ideas people?
  2. Hi all. Well where do I start with this car. Had an Impreza wrx gb270 about a year now and it's problem after problem. The clutch is now slipping so obviously not much choice apart from replace it. I will be doing the work myself, I've replaced clutches in the past but only on smaller cars and never done a Subaru one yet so any tips will be great. But my main question is which clutch kit do I go for? Am I best getting an uprated one or sticking to standard? The reason I'm asking is that I got told to go for a flappy paddle clutch kit. But was then told by another person that them clutches can lead to other problems and also make the car horrible to drive. Is this true? Any recommendations of which clutch will be best? The flywheel will also be getting replaced as I don't like to reuse the old one.
  3. Well how could I check the turbo is good? And maybe a way of finding a leak?
  4. Yes I will post a picture up of it. I did fit a boost gauge due to me thinking something wasn't right. On full boost it gets about 13-14psi is this right? I have noticed when in 3rd gear I put foot to the floor and the gauge shoots up to around 15-16psi then instantly drops back down to around 13-14psi.
  5. I honestly hear nothing that's why I joined here for advice. I wasn't sure if it's a normal thing on these models and if it was silenced some how. I have also noticed on it that the actuator has no threads left on the rod so it's been made as tight as possible by the previous owner or can they not be adjusted on these cars and it's basically made to suit and that's it if you know what I mean?
  6. Lol that's the thing it don't have a dump valve, the noise was just coming from the cone filter of my mates I put on.
  7. Does it? I did try a friend's k&n cone filter on mine I put it straight onto the pipe that goes to the air box. Went for a drive and still didn't make much of a difference to be honest. Obviously got the air sucking noise then when changing gears got a bit of a terrible sounding dump valve noise, well more like a wet !Removed! noise.
  8. The cat is standard and from there it's the nur spec exhaust. The centre box is removed so it's just a stainless pipe.
  9. Thanks for the reply. No it didn't, it was completely standard. It's confusing me I keep thinking I have got a boost problem due to this but I could be wrong.
  10. Hi all. First of all I'm new here and would really like my question answered if that's not a problem. I have owned a impreza GB270 now since November and I love it up to yet. But something has been bugging me since owning it. When driving I don't get that turbo spool noise sort of like a jet noise if you understand me and wanted to know why this is? I've owned a focus St and megane sport before the Scooby and they both got that noise. To me it doesn't seem right with the Scooby or is this normal? My brother had a bug-eye sti imported from Japan it was was completely standard but it still had that whistle noise and felt much faster to be honest. My gb270 has got a nur spec r exhaust system and I've removed the snorkus but still the same. Everything else is standard on the car, any advice is appreciated.
