  1. Thanks for that, will try Godspeed. I would look to upgrade but i've already bought some discs so don't fancy sending them back to buy more. Cheers
  2. Hi All, I bought a 98 Impreza turbo 2000 recently and have been looking to put some new discs/pads on the rears. After further investigation on fitting these myself, the calipers were seized on (along with rounded bolts) and not working at all so I've been trying to buy some to replace. I've already bought some vented discs + pads (along with some handbrake shoes as that's not working either) but getting my hands on calipers + holders seems harder.. I'm told by my local garage i need the caliper holding brackets as well which is fine, but I just cant find them to buy.. Import Car parts have been good for me before but they're struggling to find the caliper holders in their many pallets. It's been a couple weeks of them looking and after a quick phone call still going to be another couple weeks of looking. Anyone know where I can buy some caliper holders from? Was looking to buy the calipers + holders together in one as to make sure it fits. Would consider some good condition, working 2nd calipers/holders as well.. Thanks in advance!
  3. Thanks for all the help - Tyres are looking okay for the moment so will hold fire on those. How hard is this to fit/sort myself? Fairly savvy with working on cars and up for trying most things ha! Brembo discs seem a tad expensive then - I've had Mtec discs on my Type R before and they were great, had 0 problems with them.
  4. Hi All, Just bought myself a 1998 Impreza WRX and loving it. However it's going to need some work done. Back brakes really aren't working and look completely rusted.. Along with this the handbrake is non-existent, could this be related to the brakes/calipers being seized or something? What's the best option for new back discs/pads and potentially calipers? Fronts have drilled and grooved on but what brand? The car won't be run on tracks and is just for road use, daily driving. My plan is to take it to a garage next door and get them to check them out and look them over but I don't want them putting on any old crap.. Tyres are looking pretty shot as well.. Fronts were flat and after pumping up one is already gone down again in 1 day. I'm not so fussed on tyres as i'm not going to be track using or ragging it around.. Some cheap and cheerful standard tyres from next door garage i think will do. Any advice will be welcome! Go original Subaru parts( if still available for 1998 model?) or buy brembo etc? Cheers, Rich
  5. Thanks. Car needs new back discs/pads and probably new tyres all around or at least on the front. Any ideas? Will probably make a new thread in the correct forum now anyway!
  6. Thanks all! Yeah loved the Type R but loving boost over vtec so far!
  7. Hello all. Just sold my EP3 Type R and bought myself a scooby! Always wanted one and finally done it. Love the Impreza and having great fun in it for the past 5 days i've had it. It needs a fair amount of TLC and work done (Handbrake, new back discs, immobiliser etc etc) but can't complain so far! Up in the north east (Whitley Bay) if there is anyone else on here around the area? Think i saw a few scoobys at Silverlink the other day on a little meet. No doubt i'll be asking for help and advice very soon!
