  1. It is an incredible engine to be fair, yeah I think mines on an aftermarket OEM pipe if that makes sense. Makes a decent noise but certainly more to open up. Yeah there's a lot of menus and toys to discover haha. I think it'll surprise you for a long time yet lol. Ah gonna get a new radiator and thermostat on her I think before I take her out for a longer run, temp gauge likes to scare me when engines under load up hill haha. She's been behaving very recently though. I'll certainly keep an eye out for ya, the legacy's are distinctive vehicles that's for sure
  2. Same here! Still not sure I've found all the toys these cars have to offer up! can't wait to see how she gets on while on an airport run later this month. The short blasts have been lovely but I do feel the need to stretch the legs a little for sure! It's been a steep learning curve for me too already! Whoever said a boxer layout was a good idea?! 🤔 Certainly good to know that there's a fellow H6 just down the road to look out for!
  3. Hi guys, so for those of you who don't know I picked up a legacy estate 3.0 spec b at the end of august. On my back from the dealer into full time ownership and about a mile from home noticed the temperature had started to rise very close to the red, this happened while on an uphill stretch and it was the first time I'd noticed anything untoward on the journey. Have driven it a few times since on shortish journey's and the same thing happens on uphill stretches. Weird thing is it settles back to halfway or just below when the car is going downhill and fluctuates a little between hot and cold when on the level. Have had a look on various forums already without coming across this kind of issue being written about. (Copied the below over from a thread I have uploaded in a fellow legacy forum. Not chronologically accurate) So a small update to my rather confusing issue. Drove my car around locally today and found she behaved mostly perfectly, again the temperature rose when travelling uphill under load. Had a couple of occasions where I was sat stationary in queue's of traffic that happened to be on hills and had the car in neutral - no issues. Placed the car in D and applied the throttle the temperature rose. Other than these small uphills had no temperature issues even when driving the car at a steady 50-60mph for one stretch. Pulled off some quick overtaking manoeuvres to overtake some slower cars on my ring road (approx 20 up to 40/45mph) and the temperature rose again before settling back down as soon as I went back to cruising. I took the car out again tonight (06/09) and she behaved impeccably on the way out to food. Held a steady 50 on cruise control with no rises in temperature, no fans on when stopped. On the way back from picking up food she held a steady 50 on cruise control again with no temp rises and only started to rise in temp when going uphill. All suggestions welcome, if some discussion gets going then even better for me :)
  4. Ah you'll be easily spotted then, I'm on a J plate, just saying . Weekends will be the best time to catch me in her as well lol. The spec b's push out 245bhp but I'm pretty sure that's standard across the 3.0 range. Think the spec b designation is just Bilstein sports suspension and extra toys as standard inside. The options list is pretty small I hear.
  5. We certainly are shms, I know there's a light blue leggy goes around Watford, seems a bit quiet to me so I believe it's only a 2.0/2.5 and seen one outback but I think that was just passing through as haven't seen it since. I'm on a private plate and I believe the only 3.0 spec b legacy in Watford (happy to be proven wrong) so I'll keep an eye out for you too mate. Always happy to know of another local subbie owner to share experiences/advice/knowledge with that's for sure!
  6. Depending where you are I might even be in a position to offer your father-in-law a viewing/drive pending sorting a small temperature issue I'm having.
  7. As that happens to be the exact spec of leggy I've bought feel free to tell him he can ask me for an owner's opinion ;) They truly are fantastic cars especially for the money you can pick them up for. Mines done 150k and starts/runs/drives like a brand new car! Truly is the best car I've ever owned or driven and I'm glad I went for the 3.0 as I've heard the 2.0/2.5 aren't quite as nice to drive as they feel underpowered.
  8. Recently purchased a legacy estate and must say it's the best car I've ever driven. Last time I came across this much comfort with this much speed it was an SRT Grand Cherokee costing north of £80k (not mine unfortunately) but the legacy is much more fun to drive! Welcome to the club and enjoy your outback! :)
  9. Thanks for the welcome Jay! These cars certainly are a hell of a lot of fun to own!
  10. Haha don't say that Steve!! Happened to me when I bought my MG ZR! 🙈 I'm happy to be exclusive for now haha. Yeah I've noticed the steering is surprisingly light for the size of the car, guessing that for getting the back end out in the corners? Tried it round a couple of roundabouts but I couldn't get the back to step out! Anyone know why?! 🤔😂 Another shot of the beast too 😁
  11. Hmm not sure how quickly I'll be approaching 200,000 miles anytime soon as this looking like a weekend driver at the minute as work is within walking distance. I'll wave if I ever see you haha. Legacies are a rarity in my neck of the woods, only seen 1 other estate in the past 5 years. Based on the latest picture, tints have to happen at some point lol. Maybe just the backs though. I'll have to see.
  12. Well she's home safe and sound, words defy me as to just how good that drive home was! Driven a few nice cars in my time but the legacy is up there already, probably top 2 (following a sensibly modded Jag xtype) but time and living with it will only enhance it top 1 status. And the noise!!! My god the noise is beautiful! And that's on a standard exhaust, new one is in the pipeline to fully unlocked that h6 roar. If the drive home was that good living with it can only get better!! Only a couple of pictures for now as in my excitement I parked it up at home and forgot but rest assured there will be plenty more photos when I take her for another drive later!
  13. So today is the day I pick up my new baby, thefatman WRX you were right about this second wife thing (I don't even have a first wife! ) will make sure to get some pictures taken this time so I can finally show her off!
  14. Haha oh dear!! should a bought a legacy, cos they're sensible or something 😂😂
  15. Hey at least she doesn't talk back like the wife does. (Resists the urge to mention smiles at the weekend XD)
