Hi all, hopefully picking this up on thursday.

Gonna be a tidy up project, as it will o ly be used for to and from work so the missus can have the car

Found this gem for £400, with a new mot, no advisories

Needs some dents sorting and some rust patches sorting too, and a new brake light cluster on one side.

Its a 1998 forester gls 2.0 auto awd

Well chuffed with the find

What do you lot think?

And does anyone know where i can find a rear light cluster?

welcome to the Forester Club :)

strange MOT tester...

I already looked into this, all the lights are still fully functional, the cluster is still water tight and has no sharp edges that could be considered a hazard, so it doesnt fall under as an advisory on the MOT lol

Spot on mate thanks, the car has just over 100k on the clock, but im yet to own anything with less than 100k anyway lol! Its has service history from new right up to 2008 then the chap who has had it since then has done all the services himself (on behalf if his wife anyway as it was hers) so been well looked after mechanically, just cosmetically needs a but of attention

But ive got a mate who works for dent magic, another who runs dent wizard, and another close mate works in a spray booth that does plastidipping and hydro dipping :D

Not a stupid question mate, we're all friendly and down to earth here, at the end of the day were all learning all the time so feel free to ask away, thats the best thing about this forum no one proclaims to be better than anyone else because they have had a subaru for x amount longer than other people.

Anyway sls is the self leveling suspension unit on the rear of the forester, if you have a look underneath atvthe lower rear struts there should be something the size of a red bull can atached to it,

Hows your excel G & springcoil rear conversion doing ?

You notice better ride with it over the old SLS

Mr B.

The ride does feel better with the Excel G's and springcoils and the ride height is much better.

The rear suspension feels stiffer than with the SLS setup but doesn't roll as much when cornering.

Thanks.

Good to here owners views as helps me offer good choices to customers.

springcoil springs is probably part of reason feels stiffer as they tend use slightly stiffer rates  for XT models as tend to be driven bit more sporty.

Those Excel G's get good feedback from everyone I supplied them to as seem good compromise for uk roads & the price of the ones you purchased was almost stealing really :-)

Have fun with your Fozzy XT  ...
