Tasteful sound system upgrade

Recommended Posts

The sound deadening looks great.

When I installed my rear speakers the factory cable was rusted and covered in a nasty white gunk, no idea what it was.

My only issue is that I can't go above 50% volume without it sounding crappy. I'm an amateur at this and it was all done by myself, but I'm at a loss.

Here's the system...

One thing it could be is the crossover thing, I left it out because I couldn't work it out...

The crossover for the components is essential to get them working properly, really simple to connect up. Do you have an amplifier and sub in the car? Most audible distortion comes from speakers being asked to do too much (I.e trying to put bass through small speakers) so if you can separate the frequencies to the speakers that handle them best you'll get a better sounding system

Nope, only the door speakers. I was hoping I wouldn't need to get an amp or sub... They're on the list for next pay day anyway

New 4 channel amp purchased yesterday just need front door speakers probably alpine type R's and some sound deadening then I'll be ready to start the install. Hopefully do it over the bank holiday weekend.
