Jason Plato remains with BMR for 2018

BMR Racing are pleased to announce that double British Touring Car Champion Jason Plato will remain with the team for the 2018 Dunlop MSA British Touring Car Championship in the Subaru Levorg

Last year saw the BTCC legend celebrate his 50th pole position and his 96th win in the series. Titled the BTCC’s most successful touring car driver, 50-year-old Jason will be competing in his 20th year in the Championship after his first involvement in 1997, winning the drivers’ title in 2001 and 2010. His target this year is to take that tally up to the 100-win milestone and also secure a well overdue third BTCC driver’s title.

The 2018 campaign will mark a third season for Subaru with the Levorg Sport Tourer and in addition to his own personal targets, Jason will be an essential part of the BMR Racing team. Alongside team mate Ashley Sutton, Plato will assist the launch of our campaign to clinch both the manufacturers, constructors and teams titles in what promises to be an exciting year with the series celebrating its 60th anniversary.

“I'm really looking forward to 2018, we have some exciting new developments in progress which should see the Adrian Flux BMR Subaru Levorgs fighting at the sharp end of the grid yet again. April can’t come soon enough. said Jason

Warren Scott, BMR Racing Team Principal commented “I am pleased to retain Jason in the team for another year and am looking forward to supporting him to his 100 wins as well as his fight for the championship throughout what promises to be an unforgettable year.”

Paul Tunnicliffe, Managing Director of Subaru UK commented “We’re delighted to keep Jason in the Subaru Levorg for the 2018 season. His experience is invaluable to the team and we’re certain that he can continue to build on his previous successes in the British Touring Car Championship with both Subaru UK and the BMR Team.”
