Hi all, Experiencing an ongoing issue with my '08 Legacy estate: Every couple of months my keys fall out of sync with the car meaning I can't unlock it remotely or deactivate the immobiliser without using the PIN code. Initially I assumed the issue was with the keys, but the local Subaru garage have been through all the normal fixes and the problem persists. Each time they reprogram the keys everything works fine for at most a few months then randomly it's back to square one. Starting to suspect the issue lies with the car rather than the keys? If anyone has any potential insight it would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks, Joe
Hello - I'm new to the forums so apologies if this topic's been done before and I missed it, btw. Okay, I've got a really great condition JDM '06 GTB Twinscroll - EXCEPT FOR THE CENTRAL LOCKING!!! The problem appears to be something to do with the Body Control Module, so this is happening: 1. Key fob doesn't lock the car (have changed the battery, no response) 2. Drivers door lock (using it manually with key) only locks the driver's door, doesn't trigger the central locking 3. Central locking button by the electric window controls triggers the central locking I'm not up to diagnosing or fixing that kind of thing, but the guys I have working on it (also doing the service, speedo conversion etc) tell me that it's a problem with the Body Control Module and I'll need to get the car specific ID for them to reprogram it (or replace it / whatever). This ID will be specific to the vehicle, but getting it is hard as Subaru UK probably won't be able to help with an imported car, and I might need to try and get the number from Japan. So before I start chasing up Japanese scooby dealers etc... I wondered if anyone here had any ideas? I've never directly imported a JDM car before (owned a couple) so I'm unfamiliar with this sort of thing. Thanks in advance anyone who can help! A 🙂
The problem I have posted this problem before but trying again now as I've had it for months now and can't seem to find any help. It's getting really annoying such a simple thing not working. So I have a classic GC8 shape 1994 JDM WRX and the problem is that when I press the lock button on my key fob the car chirps and lights flash which makes it look like its locked when actually only the driver's door locks. It is the same problem if I lock it manually with the key. What I have done so far to try and fix the problem Many people suggested that the central locking control box located under the passenger footwell could be faulty so I went ahead and had a look at it and inside the box around the connectors had corrosion and on the connectors of the wiring. So I got a working replacement box and replaced the connectors on the wiring and still no luck however when i plugged this in it did make a locking noise happen but the doors didn't actually lock. I have checked all the fuses both under the drivers footwell and under the bonnet. As far as I have looked I cant seem any obvious damage to anything within the door. Any help would be much appreciated I will post pictures below of what I am seeing but I'm not to sure what most of it is. If anyone has any advice on what to do next or if there is another group on here anyone could suggest to help me out that would be great.
Hi, I have got a 93 JDM WRX and I'm having what I assume is an electrical issue with my windows(I'm no electrician but looking to learn as much as I can). The drivers side window has never worked, I tested the circuit and it seems to be getting a current when the switch is pressed at the green connector that goes into the wire through to the back of the motor so I assume the motor is shot but the other 3 all worked from the drivers panel and the individual switches. I have started stripping the car as I'm looking to use it for rallying eventually and when I took the rear door cards off I took the switches off with them which stopped the rear windows from working(I assume because the circuit was not complete) but the passenger window still worked from the drivers panel and the passenger switch. Over the weekend I re-attached the switches to the rear window circuits and they started working again from the individual switches and the drivers panel. Ok so all was good at this point, 3 out of the 4 were working which I could live for now. I then removed all the carpets and roof lining and took the speaker out of the drivers door. On re-attaching the door card none of my windows now work from any switch. I have tested the panel and it is getting power and with the back off when a switch is pressed the volt meter shows a spike so it looks like it is doing something. When I re-tested the green connector on the wire that goes into the motor on the drivers door it now no longer registers any activity on the tester. So does anyone have any idea what could be the issue? I've looked online and I can't see anything about a fuse for the windows but is there one? Could this be an earthing issue and if so how do I go about testing and diagnosing it? Any help would be greatly appreciated as the passenger window is currently stuck down. Is there a way to force the window back up? Can I put a charge through the motor to put the window up? Again thanks in advance.
