Hey all, looking for some advice besides the usual nay-sayers that will always offer the usual buy a WRX. This is out of the question unfortunately. As the title suggests I just bought a 2005 Forester EJ20 XT and im looking to engine swap into my daily 2008 Impreza 1.5r Hatchback non turbo. I have both complete running and driving cars and aim to sell the rest of the forester and my 1.5 engine and gearbox to help fund the project as I go. I have space and some tools but will need to hire an engine crane, anything else specialist etc. I do also have connections with friends and a coup

Hi About to rebuild the front calipers on my SG9 Forester XT and would like to replace the flexible brake hoses (all aroud) at the same time, I've read many times that the brake pedal feel is improved by fitting stainless steel braided hoses. From your experiences (taking into account fitment, length, quality etc.), can anyone recommend a manufacturer (Hel, Goodridge etc.). Cheers

Sadly selling my Forester as it's being replaced with a more sensible (economical) family estate.. It's in superb condition throughout and has been very carefully cared for by myself. No rust, very few scratches on the bumpers, interior is very good too. Everything works on it and it doesn't have any issues. When things have needed doing I've done them. Vehicle is in Barons Court in London, please contact me to view. £4,995 ONO Also on ebay here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223664356020 More pictures here Timing belt done in December 3 owners (inc

Currently driving a Forester XE Lineartronic and have a chance of a new XT at a great price. Realise there is a big hit on fuel consumption which I can take....worth the change? or better holding out till new Forester comes out...I realise that the new version won't come out in XT guise which will mean that only option in future would be used....opinions.

Evening all and happy new year, My 2.5 XT Forester has stood on the drive under a cover for the last few weeks. Took the cover off the other day to start it up - battery flat (almost). Charged it up and started the car and let it warm up. The engine light had come on and the cruise control light on the dash was slowly flashing. Used my cheapo OBD scanner to reset the fault code. Before doing do I made a note of the code.(see photo) It read as follows:- P2016 Intake manifold Runner Position Sensor/Switch Circuit Low Bank 1a Took the car out today for a short run

hi guys My Forester has been standing on the drive for around 6 weeks, mainly while I did some jobs on it. During that time the car hasn't been started or moved and the battery has gone flat, so I've removed it for charging. I'm aware that once the battery is reconnected that there is a learning 'process' that the ECU will need to go through to enable it to re-learn it's idling parameters. My concerns are for the engine itself. Having stood for this length of time will it be ok to 'just' start it up again (taking into account the re-learning process) Is there a

Hi apologies if this has been asked before, I did do a search but couldn't find anything conclusive. I've just bought a 2.5XT Forester auto and it's a fab machine, however for someone who is alien to petrol turbos (had loads of diesels) the noise under full throttle seems rather excessive? A loud whooshing/air sound which almost completely drowns out the (stock) exhaust. As far as I'm aware, the car isn't modified at all. The car drives perfectly, pulls strongly noise is directly proportional to turbo boost seemingly. Is this the norm for this engine/car? cheers Rob
