  2. Hi I have a 61 plate 2.0 turbo diesel Forester and for the last few weeks the DPF light has been on/off. It's had an oil change (light went out for a bit) then forced generation 3 times at a local independent garage, each time the light goes off for a bit, then back on. I've been told by the garage that I need a new DPF, it has to be from Subaru and there are none due in the country until October. I've also been advised not to drive the car in case the turbo gets damaged. Does anybody know if the DPF really has to come from Subaru (at a cost of £1000), I've found one that is apparently compatible for my car for £300 + VAT, too good to be true? Thanks!
