  1. I'll check the fuses. Mine is 2005 and there's no record of the alarm battery been replaced so perhaps I'll order one. Does it have to be OEM or any 9V with the same configuration would do?
  2. Yes, everything worked just fine prior to that. When I reconnected the battery the key was in my pocket. I had no idea this would have happened otherwise I'd have had hooked the battery to the trickle charger. Unfortunately I found nothing in the owners manual that casts any light on the issue, no good...
  3. Thanks for your reply mate, the doors do not lock/unlock on pressing the button although the central locking works with the key. I replaced the battery on the remote itself but that won't make any difference either. My guess is that the alarm might somehow 'forgotten' the key and I may need to re-program it. But how?? I've already seen few youtube videos on that one but they all seem to use different remotes for the same model. Also there's no 8-digit code label inside my fob, I already checked that too. I read through the alarm booklet but it says that I do need that 4 digit alarm pin code so that I can program remotes, and the one the dealership gave me is obviously not the current one...so I am damn clueless now 😓
  4. Hi there, I am very new to this forum, and in urgent need of help...and I am almost certain that I must not be the very first Subaru owner who has experienced this. Everything started with the voltage of my battery of my Legacy, year 2005 dropped to the point when the engine could not be started, yet the alarm went off upon opening the door. The car was not driven for a while so I decided to charge the battery with a charger yet the alarm wouldn't stop going off. It was impossible to turn it off with the key-fob, so I disconnected the battery from the terminals and hooked it to the charger. Once it got charged I re-connected it and the alarm went off right away. Nevertheless I managed to start the engine, drove the car around the car park and everything seemed okay apart from the alarm. I changed the lithium battery inside the fob yet no change. I then contacted Subaru dealership to get the pin code for the alarm keypad hoping that would sort it. Not at all, as I am the 6th owner and I presume that one of the previous owners has changed it to something I'd never get to know! So I am stuck now with the alarm going off every time I open the door or start the engine, and the key-fob not responding at all! If some of you have experienced the same thing and know the way out of it I'd very much appreciate your help! Cheers, Emil
