  3. The Early Exiga we’re sold in Japan, Indonesia and Australia (Legacy Exiga) from 2009 they have lots of other goodies like lane departure etc. A lot of Japanese go for a top of the range Sony sound system inc TV. Unfortunately they don’t work in the uk so a retro fit unit has to be fitted. The newer ones will be more expensive!! Make sure if you get one you get the cam belt etc changed and change all oils etc. As you will probably get no service history. Still can’t get a drivers hand book in English.
  4. Well done. Hope you will be pleased with it. I like mine. definitely sporty. I think there are only 6 regd in uk so far.
  5. Have a look at this link https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subaru_Exiga
  6. Hi hanman, welcome. The Exiga has been good, made for Japan market and also Indonesia and Australia. it was imported in Dec 2018 and I got it in March 2019. The importer had serviced and MOT'd it, wax oiled it and fitted a UK radio/satnav. Changed the speedo to MPH and ODO to miles. In December I had it fully serviced, all oils etc. and checked out all over, it needed new tyres so got Michelin Cross Climate, (I have had them before on my Jag X type AWD and Ford Kuga) and then got it re-MOT'd. It really goes well, auto box is lovely, but have to watch my speed as it is easy to soon get over the speed limit!! Bags of room for my golf gear. I had retro heated seats fitted and reversing sensors. As you will no doubt know it has not had much use during lockdown and the battery went flat a couple of times. Thought the battery was on the way out so got a new one. It still went flat so checked it out and I have a battery drain of 0.2 amps on Fuse No. 7 which it says is the integrated unit? sounds expensive!! Just need to find some one to fix it now. Apart from that I am very happy with it.
  7. Wondered if you can help? I value your Subaru expertise I had a new battery fitted in 5th November 2020, and had been using the car quite often. When the last lock down kicked in I didn’t use the car much at all. I experienced a flat battery on 22nd Jan so put on a fast charge and had the battery checked where I bought it. They said it was ok but need a full charge. Out came the battery charger again and trickle charged it over a 24 hour period, it was reading 12.6 volts on my multi meter. Since then I have experienced battery drain over a 2 -3 day period. I have made sure all interior lights are off. A TV receiver that was under the driver’s seat, (left in when it was imported), was removed. I checked if anything else was left on but couldn’t find anything On 24th Jan the battery was 11.9 volts , I had to go out in the car and after 9 miles it read 12.3 v. next morning it 11.82v Next day 11.46v Next day 11.27v Next day 10.76v (the 28th) I charged the battery 12.5v Next day I did 6 miles and it read 12.5 v Next day 11.67v we did 8 miles that day and it read 12.1v when I parked up. Over the next week I did 10 miles one day and 20 miles the second day. When not using the car the battery was losing around 0.5 to .08 v each day. Last Tuesday the battery was charged and at 12.16v, I pulled the radio/clock fuse, (the radio/sat nav/phone etc. was fitted by the importer) and checked it the next day it read 11.4v , so not that. Thursday it was 10.3v and wouldn’t start, it was very cold too. -4 degrees! I fast charged the battery , 12.7 v and went shopping after I got back it was 12.8v. I put the radio fuse back in and pulled the heated seat fuses (retro fitted) Did a short run last night, to the chip shop! and when I parked up it was 12.3v. This morning it was 11.65v. so not the heated seats! As you will no doubt gather there is a drain on the battery somewhere,. Do you have any ideas? The alternator charges at 14.6V so that seems ok. Sorry for the long drawn out e-mail , just hope you can throw some light in it?? (no pun intended)

  9. Thanks Jay, that is Brill The markings look the same so will follow that advice
  10. Hi, can any one help? I am checking over my new Exiga and need to clarify the correct procedure for checking the auto gearbox oil level. I have found the dipstick ok. It has a five speed auto. The hand book is in Japanese!!
  11. Thanks for the welcome Jay, the Exiga was mainly made for the Japanese market and also sold in Australia , Singapore and Indonesia, never marketed in the UK or USE quite a bit of info on Wikipedia, that later models are quite a high spec.
  12. How are you liking Chigwell? my daughter used to live an Wickford then in Matching Tye
  13. Hi Greenmamba, thanks for the welcome. yes very rare but a lovely vehicle. We live in Fauchons Close, normally nice a quiet cul-de-sac but at the moment, as you will gather, is is absolutely dead!
  14. Hi everyone, I have just joined as I am now a proud owner of my first Subaru. It is a Japanese import, an 08 Exiga GT. 2 litre turbo, 220 hp, 5 speed auto with Si drive. I was looking for a 4x4 estate and saw this one at a nearby importer, really liked the spec and it has 7 seats and when the are all folded down you have a vast loading bay. Plenty of room for my golf buggy and clubs. Unfortunately with the corona virus restrictions I have not has chance to give it a good road test. Are there any other Exiga owners out there??
