  1. Hi all, New member here looking for some advice! I’ve got a 59 plate Impreza (hatchback type) and it’s got a flat battery due to not using it because of the lockdown. I went to pull the bonnet release to charge the battery and nothing happened. I pulled the wire and it came all the way out and looks to have rusted at the bonnet end and frayed away. Does anyone know if it is possible (and how to do it) to open the bonnet going through the grill? Also, if it isn’t possible, can you take the entire front bumper off without access under the bonnet so that I can get to the latch? Any images would be greatly appreciated as I’m far from a mechanic but like to learn how to do things! The image is the type of latch I have (from someone selling it on eBay) if that helps describe how I can get it open? thanks
