  1. It wasn’t run for a couple of weeks, but had been in regular use up until that point. Would it possibly clear the rough idling after a run?
  2. Hi. Just looking for some know how before I head to the dealership. I parked up my 2004 blob eye WRX in my garage a couple of months ago. It was running fine, but had the P0420 code with the engine management light on. It’s only done 78,000 miles & still has its original exhaust, so the dealership said it needed a turbo back system to clear the code for the MOT. I parked it up to save up the money. But now when I started it up, it had a really high idle, maybe 2500rpm, & a misfire. Is that all to do with the engine management light issue, or has something else gone badly wrong in the meantime? Any help gratefully received. Thanks
  3. Many thanks for the replies. Looks like it’s a new stainless steel exhaust then!
  4. Hi. I’m looking for some help or advice. I have a 04 Impreza WRX blobeye wagon with 78,000 miles. The engine management light has come on, & the local dealer says it’s the catalytic converter code. To turn it off for the MOT next month (it comes straight back on if turned off) it’ll cost £3000, they say. This is because the car still has the original exhaust that comes in one piece, & the replacement cat comes in two pieces, & the new part can’t be fitted to the original exhaust because there’s no join. What are my options? Has anyone come across this before? The car only ever gets long runs as I use it for a 140 mile commute two to three times a week on the motorway. Thanks in advance for any advice
