  1. Subaru Exiga 2.0 GT 2008 Automatic Estate/MPV 7 seats 82,000 Miles / 132,000 Km MOT to July 2026 Enthusiast owned Modified & Tuned Same platform as Impreza WRX / Legacy GT / Forester ST Only manufactured for the Japanese Domestic market (JDM) but now possible to import to the UK and be enjoyed by ourselves.. These estates/MPVs are really rare on our shores and share the same components as many Subaru’s from that era. The 2.0 Boxer turbo engine has plenty of power (stock is 225BHP but this car has 280BHP) and can comfortably carry 7 people. It can also be used as a 5 seater estate with plenty of boot space. When choosing this car I made sure it had most options ticked.. The most important for me was the steering wheel controls, not just for the radio, but also for Cruise Control. Check the other ads for this car, many Exiga’s (and there aren’t many) won’t have the cruise control option. An added bonus is that the Cruise control works over 50MPH ! If you do have cruise control, the limit is locked at 50MPH. only a tune (like ECUTek), that this car has, can unlock that feature and allow the cruise control to work over 50MPH. - Imported in 2021 by myself, so V5 only shows 1 Owner - Japan Auction sheet showed condition as grade 4. I think it looks even better now J - Meticulously maintained during my ownership with regular services and wear/tear & maintenance items changed as required without hesitation (see breakdown of ownership further below) - Car is based on the Impreza WRX / Legacy / Forester from that era so there was plenty of scope for performance improvements on the renowned 2.0 boxer engine, which I was happy to apply to this Exiga - Stock is 225BHP but with the mods this car now gives out 280BHP (chart included as proof) - Other visual modifications also added to the car to help it stand out such as 19” Bronze Alloys and the ‘Black Edition’ looks. Plenty of comments from passers-by and other road users about how good and unique it looks. - Folder full of receipts/invoices to evidence the work completed on the car. - Exiga’s are RARE on these shores but with the work done on this car, it is EVEN MORE RARE. - Practical but Fast and FUN.. carry 7 passengers and still out perform 90% of cars on the road. Proper wolf in sheep’s clothing. - I would keep it but I have now moved on to a V8 beast and 7 seats are no longer required. - Would love for this to go to a fellow Subaru enthusiast that appreciates how good these cars are and will cherish and look after it like I have. History: 2021 - Imported into UK September 2021 - Spent £1.2k (on top of import costs) making sure the car was ready for UK; o Hallen Import GOLD Service (spark plugs, pads, all oils etc etc), underseal - Replaced top mounts, ARB Bushes, Wheel bearings, Stabiliser links & wishbones 2022 - Upgraded brake lines to steel brake lines all round (Custom made). - Upgraded pads and discs for better braking performance. - Custom Cat back Exhaust system. Deep Scooby rumble that everybody loves. SOUNDS AMAZING now J - Bluetooth connectivity added - After 6 months of ownership, I decided that the car had way more potential and the Subaru modification bug had truly bitten. So I contacted Perfect touch Performance in London to work their magic. They changed the following; o High pressure fuel pump, 3port boost solenoid, ECUTek flash (includes ability to use Cruise Control over 50MPH), Custom 200 cell Sport cat from engine (Hayward & Scott), uprated Intercooler, Mishimoto Performance Air intake - Annual Oil Service - Common 5EAT Transmission speed sensor 2 issue resolved by local garage ‘EKS Performance’. Requires new transmission fluid. So no Transmission fluid change or 5EAT Sensor worries for the new owner 2023 - With maintenance and Performance ticked, it was time to move on to the looks. New 19” Bronze wheels added some real stance to the wagon. - Track rods, including 4 wheel alignment - New Rainsport tyres all round. Still has plenty of tread left (see pics) - Annual Oil Service 2024 - Upgraded to BC Racing Coilovers. Still have original shocks and pink STI springs if new owner wishes to go back to stock. Will provide with the sale of the car - Annual Oil Service - Front Lower ball joints 2025 - Replaced front pads - Fuel injectors cleaned and renewed by ‘EKS Performance’, which included a whole new set of gaskets when everything was put back together (unfortunately I cannot find the invoice for this work L ). Have contacted the garage to see if they can supply a replacement invoice. Cost about £800 - New Fuel filter (and replaced fuel pump) as it’s all in the fuel tank and I didn’t want to go back in there !!. The fuel filter and it’s housing was specially Built-to-Order and Imported from Japan. - New battery to replace the Original from 2008. Decided to replace the battery as the car now has a Front and Rear Dashcam plus Quick charge USB-C ports at the front and Middle row seats - Added Fuel pressure gauges and added adjustable Fuel pressure regulator to enhance engine looks Car is back on original plate: LF58 EDP Car is advertised elsewhere Lots of money spent in my ownership and the new owner will be very happy. Only changing as 7 seats are no longer required and I have a new car (An offer on a V8 I couldn't resist). £7995 ono Tel: 07715 169 376
  2. What mods have you done / plan to do? Here's what I have done; Done Uprated Pads and discs, Steel braided brake lines, Uprated Intercooler, Uprated fuel pump, full custom 3" exhaust with Sports cats, Air intake, blow off valve, 3port solenoid, ECUTek Tuned Planned Coilovers (Any recommendations?) Cosmetic changes: New larger wheels, 'Black pack' (darker tints, black logos, black chrome trim, black hood scoop)
  3. update on the above.. All is resolved now and was linked to a faulty Turbine Speed Sensor 2, which is located on the Valve Body. details here:
  4. Not much info on the internet with regards to the dreaded P1710 code failure (on our Exiga cars), which is linked to Turbine Speed Sensor 2.. My 2008 Exiga GT had this issue a few months ago. Symptoms - Massive lunge/crunch when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear - like another car has rear ended you.. - CEL coming on - Red ATOil (high temp) light coming on The Sensor 2 issue seems to be a common occurrence across the Subaru range from this time.. Legacy/Forester forums refer to this quite abit. I can confirm that the same applies to our Exiga cars. The part can be purchased quite easily from Ebay/Amazon but the labour required to fit will cost much more unless you can do it yourself. There is no part number as the sensor needs to be spliced into the harness on top of the valve body. simply search for "Subaru Turbine Speed Sensor 2". the sensor sits on top of the valve body so it needs to be removed from the car before replacing and soldering into place. I've just had my sensor replaced by a competent local mechanic and I can confirm it 100% fixes the issue (thank god 😀 ) pics provided by the garage that did the work.
  5. thats great.. many thanks
  6. hi, Having owned an Exiga GT a few years I have noticed more people are starting to purchase them in the UK.. There are no forums that have dedicated areas for Exiga discussions. Is it possible to get a section in this forum just for Exiga's, such as a "Subaru Exiga Club"? Not sure how to get in touch with an admin to put in such a request. Is this a good idea/suggestion? (hope I am not breaking any rules 🙂 )
  7. hi, I'm looking for a CVT specialist in the London/SE area.. I've owned my 2008 Subaru Exiga 2.0 GT (YA5 EJ205 engine) for over year now and it has to be one of the best car's i've owned. In the last week (on 2 occasions) my CVT gearbox/transmission has caused the car to dramatically lurch forward when moving off from a standing start.. if I continued to drive the car it would have a problem trying to find the correct gear.. Once car is turned off and started, all is well. I'm worried the issue will get worse and more frequent and so need to find a CVT specialist to investigate and fix the issue ASAP. No error codes are returned. thanks
  8. I've taken the plunge and got myself an 08 Exiga GT 🙂 .. Car is still somewhere crossing the ocean but should have it in hand in July [fingers crossed].. will post pics when i get it. Soo excited to finally downsize from my Alphard to something more sporty 😜 sneak peak of what i'm getting...
  9. hi, i know this is an old topic but the Exiga also caught my eye a few days ago but info on the net is very limited about this car.. Would love to hear feedback from any UK owners so i have an idea what to expect if i decide to purchase.
