    Engine failure

    eureco posted a topic in Subaru Forester Club
    New to the club , I have a diesel Forrester , bough new in 09 , 2 weeks ago the engine packed up , when examined by the Subaru dealership where I bought the car they said the crankshaft bearings had failed , the car has 138000 km on the clock , that's less than 100k miles , full service record , not all at a Subaru garage as there is none local to me I have been told I need a new short block + labour total cost €8,500 is this reasonable behaviour and has anyone had similar problems with the Subaru diesel
