dpf was blocked..100mbars on my device...removed it ,stuck it in oven and now reading 3mbars, so is as clear as it is going to be..BUT ignition on dash still flashing ,engine will not rev past 2,000 and chucks out lots of unburnt fuel with the dpf light still flashing...does the ecu memorize the fault, and if so does it need to be cleared first ? what else might be wrong? anyone??

I have put a low mileage 2016 lump in my 2010 Legacy ,had to change and mod a few things 1 fuel rail mod as new lump had a sensor on end for pressure reading .so now has old style monitoring. 2 injector loom plugs 3 had to fit original turbo as particulate filter wouldn't match new turbo. never ran really well ,but was useable ..until cold weather set in ..none of the glow plugs were working. Engine out again as glow plugs snapped off in the heads...so heads off and punched the plug tips back through . Motor back in ,starts easily but will not rev past 2,000 and if it does get past it will falter as if starved of fuel ,missfire and smoke heavily. The injectors were sent to a specialist , checked and given the all clear. Fuel pressure monitor readings are all ok . Any ideas..? what have I done wrong, what am I missing? code reader says 1469 which is a DPF fault ...this did give the occasional dash light before ,but would clear with a run.

Does anyone know if the diesel Legacy has an electric lift fuel pump...if so where is it?
-
the engine will not rev past 2000 ..if it does go higher it will almost die and will take a few seconds to stabilise ..fuel starvation ? Any thoughts ??

60 plated Legacy diesel..does the saddle pump supply any pressure to fuel line? Fault code P2635 pump A low performance .. hopefully someone will answer this for me.

found the correct head torques....nothing like the suggestions from videos.
-
after my glow plugs fell apart, had to lift off heads,.but what is the final torque figure?Don't mean the pre stretch . So far I have done the middle two to 25ftlbs and the other four to 11ftlbs all plus 90 + 90. but they seem really loose compared to the hernia inducing strip down.

Does anyone on this site have a read out of what the injection pump spec is ? If they have access to the pressures over the rev range ,it would be great. Engine is coming out at the moment and I want to ensure everything is spot on. Euro 6 spec pump and engine , euro spec 5 bay and ancillaries. Thanks in anticipation.

Does anyone read these?

Would anyone have a note of the fuel pressure expected on my diesel Legacy. I have recorded the pressures with my machine (Foxwell), the pressure is registered in psi ,but I assume factory spec is in Bars. The engine was a Euro 6 ,but uses a Euro 5 turbo and dpf. Also what triggers the fuel injection into the dpf? The engine is coming out soon and I want to check every issue to stop from duplicating any work. .

I am in need of a turbo for my 2010 Legacy,it doesn't have to be a good one, I just need the metal casting, not the alloy body. This weekend I put the laws of gravity to test resulting in a cracked casting. So if anyone has a worn out unit and is willing to sell what would ordinarily be scrap ,I will be thankful.

Re the Euro 6 turbo...would be willing to swap for a Euro 5 turbo as long as the casing is useable?
-
I have a 33,000 mile turbo which came from an automatic Forester, which had a bad rear ender. It is complete with the added cooler ,but you could remove it if needed. The engine is fitted in my Legacy using the original turbo, so it's being sold to recoup some of the costs. Looking for around £260 plus probably £10 postage . Enquire here or leave a message on...07792627505

unfortunately euro 5 injectors are completely different to euro 6.. ..............5's are hidden under the cam box , 6's are not.

After lots of hassle managed to get a very low mileage Euro 6 motor for my diesel Legacy. All the local indie garages can't reprogramme my ecu to accept the new injector codes...is it main dealer only , and would they even attempt to? At this moment it is a very bad starting smokey motor, which when hot runs lovely and fairly clean. With the engine and a brand new clutch and dual mass I have probably spent the actual value of the car on parts, but I do like the car.

I have a Legacy 6 speed diesel with a Euro 5 motor....the crank still breaks ..if you happen to drive on the A14 Kettering bound ,just near the Keyston turn off you may still see the four wheel skid when the crank let go for no reason apart from it's 149k. First gear is really too high to make it a good tow car,..doing a hill start with a 4 wheel trailer carrying a TVR wasn't the best experience.Top gear is great ..80mph at a fast tickover . They are a great car , but not a great tow car.

look on E-Bay..normally a few sets on there from Lithuania. -
thanks..shall give it a go.

They are all pressure related because the loom to the pressure sensor had the wires put in the wrong position..2010 engine loom connections are different to 2016. Currently using a Legacy loom on a Forrester motor .The Forrester has a different ecu block different injectors ,fuel rail etc. I know the ecu is spiked, just need a company who are able to repair or as I said ,can I go down the s/h ecu route ,re learn my key info or do I need a key bundle. If a s/h ecu can be the way ,is it dealer only? I say the ecu is spiked because I have a power from the ecu, an earth, so 2/3 there but I also have a permanent power on the reference wire ,hence the fault codes. P2635 is a stuck SCV apparently The complete engine was swapped except for the turbo as the original is fitted, as the intake pipes are different.

Not Subaru but ,in the past have purchased suspension bits for a Peugeot 406 ,retail £48 plus vat ea and off ebay for £16ea inc...couldn't tell the difference and I worked at a PSA dealership. So try them or buy s/h from a breaker.

2010 Legacy euro 5 diesel..engine exploded and had no luck finding a decent low mileage unit . I managed to buy a very low (32k)euro 6 Forrester lump. With a few mods ,it fitted , but in the process I managed to transpose the loom from the ecu to the fuel pressure regulator/sensor...It does run ,but takes a fair few turns to start up. Fault codes are p0088--p0089--p1234--p2635. I have tried many "ecu specialists" but not one who will give a reasonable answer. What to do next is my question? attempt a rebuild with maybe up to £600 or buy a second hand ecu ,try and get the keys coded etc ..after all this whichever ecu is fitted will need the injector correction codes rewritten..thoughts and ideas please.

Just opened up the block..no bearing failure but the crank has snapped ,taking most of the main bearing supports with it..new or used lump time.

2010 Legacy diesel with 150k on clock.running like a dream ,oil change every 5k. Just the other weekend it decided to lock up on the A14 near Kettering .I dipped the oil at the time and it was way way over. The engine is now on the bench, after draining 11ltrs of oil/diesel mix [this is after recent oil change] The first question is ,how come so much diesel in such a short time [dpf is clean,as are the inlet tracts]secondly if push comes to shove would an earlier engine with a metal induction housing fit my shell and would my plastic manifold fit said earlier lump. I know that crank kits are available, but if other components are ruined ,second hand lumps are the option. All suggestions accepted gratefully. Bernie.
