That's what we do in house as it's an essential test prior to any tuning. It's part of our Dyno precheck. We have special tools for this along with compressor and airline to put upto nearly 2bar in the system to check boost properly. Something that's literally impossible to do whilst the engine is stationary and not running Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning -

Re ground any MAF wires and do a continuity test If it's MAF then should be fairly straight forward to sort :). U could even rewire it completely back to the ECU directly as its only a few sites - 4 from memory Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning -

You need to pressurise the system properly with correct tools etc to ensure you have no boost/vacuum leaks sir. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning -

When you mentioned you checked for leaks, how much pressure did you put through the system ? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning -
Cheers Gambit. Ill get on the case today / tomorrow

OK.. ill have to give him a shout to see whats new. I know he had been making plans for this around a year ago but to be honest I couldn't wait as I had customers keep to get tuned. as for your other ECU losing the tune thats usual down to permanent live feeds being lost. A loom issue perhaps ?

Is ESL available for the version 5 yet? Early last year we were looking for for Andys developments on the programmable daughter boards. Most recently with version 5 stuff we Haltech it You can see pics of some ecus going on a subaru on my Facebook page post a night a go. I provide a plug n play solution which gives a heap of features. OpenECU/ECUTEK tuning on the version 5 Jecs ECU I've found unstable :( Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning

How did you check for air leaks? Also the initial cut you felt for a second could be OEM fuel cut This is common on all Jap cars with extensive breathing miss that experience cooler damp n denser air charge If it misses continually it could be plug/lead/coil issue Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning -

Hi Matt/Gambit. No worries about trying to help in terms of engineering based Qs. The theories and practice apply basically to any air pump as that's all an engine is @Matt http://fctuning.com/fctwp/?p=22 I tune most of the common engine managements including open source and ECUTEK. Progress is being made in house on our demo EJ27 ;) I thought if the team and I are going to go about developments then we'll do it in style. I'll start a build thread if someone can point me in the right direction. This engine I will be sett up on ECUTEK due to the extra race rom patches I'll be able to enable. There will be extensive video coverage of this car also. I'm sure many of you boost happy lot will be interested in our custom FMIC kits. Hi Dude. I don't know of FB at all. Im not sure how long they have been about, or even how active they are but they have definitely got nothing to do with me. As an engineer by trade Ive specialised in tuning ALL Common Japanese Engines - EJ20/25, RB26DETT, CA18DET, 4G63, 1/2JZ GTE/vvti and so on. In my field most know I've been around for a good while. I started delving into the world of Nissan turbo tuning back in 1997, prior to that i was heavily focused in the Vauxhall arena. Feel free to view here. http://fctuning.com/fctwp/testimonials/ and here http://www.driftworks.com/forum/fc-tuning/98104-testimonials.html I've other links but I won't bore you.

Cheers chaps :)

Hey Gambit. Many thanks and Cheers for the R A P I D response... ref the knowledge.. Oh Bugger.. lol :) Well we like to help out in ANYway we can.. Honestly guys I KNOW NOTHING !!! so don't ask me any Q's Truthfully Mate..people have bombarded me for years. Stops me from getting bored and I enjoy what I do, working with engines and mapping, engine builds, prototyping etc. If I and the team can be of use to any of your members even if its just friendly advice then no problem. Give us a shout. I've spoken to my colleagues and we will try and pop down on Saturday at the KENT Meet too.

Hello All. A few friends/customers suggested I join up. Been meaning to get around to it. Just wanted to briefly introduce myself. Ive been in to my EJ20/25 Engines for years and Ive also had the pleasure of being involved in 100s of builds & tunes for many types of driver around UK / Jersey & across Europe. I've been predominantly known mainly for my work on the Nissan /Toyota / Mitsubishi scene but over recent years (due to my 2 associates) I've personally take more of a fancy to the New Age Subaru Hatch and am currently involved in a big build for a few clients at the moment (The Hatch is almost complete and Ive 2 magazines that surprisingly already want to feature us but we will be doing some Winter Testing) At our establishment in Hertfordshire we predominantly enjoy and adapt to 'Build & Tune' and provide the complete bespoke power upgrade packages, with the main focus being on Borg Warner EFR Series turbos and Ill be featuring on this particular build. I am also an official ECUTEK dealer and UK dealer for Haltech Engine Management Systems. I'm am a Gold Trader on a few other forums too. Feel free to view more on my page here. My team and I look forward catching up with you at the next London / Hertfordshire Meeting. I've not yet started a build thread but when I get time I shall do, along with some added videos and time. Steve http://www.facebook.com/fctuning May the Boost Be With us All :)
