    Key code

    I'm trying to help a friend with a 2004 Outback, broken down here in France, the key won't turn off the Immobiliser. He doesn't have the 4 digit key code, which I suspect might need re-entering as the battery has been flat for some time.. I found the instructions of how to re-enter the code for both keys (keypad behind a flap) but he decided to take it to a Subaru dealer who has had it three weeks with no progress. Does anyone know if a Subaru dealer or specialist in the UK can supply from the VIN ( It was a UK registered car) if he supplies the log book and ID? Any other ideas would be welcome. Thanks in advance.
