I'm really interested in buying a forester as I live in rural Northumberland which gets its fair share of rain, snow and where some B roads resemble farm tracks 🙂
This 2014 Subaru is up for sale only a few miles away. My brother (a mechanic of 40 years and supervisor of the workshop at a local non-Subaru dealership) dismissed it immediately. He said the mileage was too high and the seller was simply looking to 'get shot of it'.

There isn't a better Forester on the market you simply can't get better than 1 owner full main dealer history.
I've paid for a full check and the it checks out - services etc. It is well below market value but he's a private seller so there's no warranty etc. included. Any money saved I would be happy to pay for a full service/new set of matching tyres etc. - I'd love to be driving this for the next 20 years!
Should I take it for a test drive, pay for a vehicle inspection or give it a miss and keep looking?
