  1. Hi All Our 2013 XV 2.0 Diesel has recently lost its power steering , our mechanic has plugged in and found a fault code relating to the electric power steering module . Issue is Subaru want £1k for a new OEM part excluding any labour fitting or associated work that may be needed I am desperately trying to source the correct OEM used part for the model engine and the year but multiple versions exist on eBay etc and car breakers , the main OEM appears to be 34710FJ040 (OEM code on the faulty unit , however multiple versions of the same OEM exist as there are additional numbers and codes after the above which are impossible to establish what they relate to age , engine type etc .. Q1. if I find an OEM part that is off a 2.0 diesel version can it be swapped out with mine if it has the starting OEM code as above (irrespective of other numbers after that code ) Q2 will it need reprogramming by SUBARU or can anyone recommend someone that can transfer the data to the new part frustrated as lost a car for goodness knows how long can’t afford Subaru new parts or labour charges and my mechanic says if it’s needs coding he can’t do it so struggling with clear path .. any specific help appreciated
