  1. Be careful. If it's Gen5, the standard battery replacement comes up as Exide EL605 which has reverse terminal layout, meaning the positive terminal is located on the left, ie. the positive terminal is closer to the windscreen, and the terminals are on the left side of the battery as you look into the engine bay from the grill towards the windscreen. The Exide EL605 is a particularly wimpy battery, 60Ah 520CCA. Be careful not to get mixed up with Subaru of America where they do things differently. I'm not sure about Gen6 (which Subaru began selling in UK in summer 2021) you could still have a Gen5 (with a 2022 registered car). Doh! I just noticed the heading is about Gen6 sorry.

My tools: https://www.ctek.com/uk/battery-chargers-12v-24v/mxs-5-0-uk https://carbatterygeek.co.uk/bm6-battery-monitor-review-12v-car/ I hope you can read the annotation, but it shows the battery dropping back to around 12.2V only 30hrs after a full charge (and presumably on its way to totally discharged). As soon as the WiFi is disabled it holds steady. So, since I turned the Wifi off, it has not dropped another decimal volt for 10hrs. I'll get it back to full charge again with the CTEK and see if this continues. I know this little BM6 device is not totally scientific but it's cheap and useful and saves the hassle of constant multimeter readings. The values it presents are two decimal places the same as the value on the cigarette lighter voltage monitor. I've never had to do this sort of stuff in 40yrs of owning cars. I don't think it's just Subaru.
  3. Bought a 2.5yr old Outback Gen 5 and had to replace the battery within a month, the battery that was replaced did not look like the original factory battery. I subsequently keep it charged monthly with a CTEK smart charger and meticulously watch voltage level, but just 6-months later, the battery is not holding a charge and looks like it needs to be replaced again. I always drive with side lights or manual full lights never auto. I have a cigarette lighter voltage meter to monitor the charging. Main dealer pretty unresponsive saying I need to take longer runs. Never had anything like this with the Legacy I'd owned for 8yrs before this. 9yr old battery and would start up fine after 2-3 weeks standing idle. I have to say, this is my third and last Subaru.
  4. I also experience this with 2021 Outback (getting flashed). Self leveling does not adjust fast enough after small bumps and dips.
  5. Legacy Mk3 owned for 4yrs Legacy Mk5 owned for 8yrs and sold at 15yrs old with 125,000m (most solid and reliable car I've ever owned) Now driving 2021 Outback purchased at 2.5yrs old.
