  1. Hi , Harrogate roughly 1 hour 20 mins from us as we live close to Great Ayton in N Yorks but thanks anyway for information. We didn't get Free servicing but we paid Β£300 for three services we also got free mats and a full tank of fuel which I believe you normally pay for πŸ‘, I suppose all subaru dealers are different depending on the sale. I've read that the lanoguard needs replacing every two years and it's a clear solution, it will be interesting how much I get quoted and how it compares to yours, congratulations on your 66 years young I only mentioned the "old git " as my darling wife of 36 years uses the term quite often especially since I retired πŸ™‚ We intend to make this our last New car as my wife is taking early retirement in December 2026 so intend to do all I can to make it last , rust prevention, early oil changes etc, I too had Several Skodas, 2 early rapides in the early days of penniless marriage and my final one when we had some cash the Octavia Vrs which I absolutely adored, happy days gone by πŸ™‚πŸ‘ Safe motoring and happy Xmas to you and your family πŸŽ…πŸŽ…
  2. Hi, and thanks once again with your advice, will ring tyre place on Monday regarding price for tyre rotation as my Wife organised it πŸ™„. Was talking to my local Subaru dealer and they have agreed they will change my oil 14000 miles instead of 16000 miles which basically is 6000 miles from now which makes me a bit happier. Yes, I do find the lane departure a little annoying at times, my wife tends to switch if off when she's driving , I tend to leave it on because I'm a old git at 66 and need a little help now and again 😁 my wife is 10 years younger so she's a bit more Awake shall we say πŸ™‚ but a do love the Subaru safety features though annoying at times especially at night with those green and red flashing lightsπŸ™„ You mentioned Underseal treatment is that OK to get done under warranty?, I've got a local Detail garage that do Lanogaurd protection what price should I pay do you think πŸ€” thanks again for your advice, safe motoring πŸ‘
  3. Hi, once again thank you for your advice,,I think I will keep the bridgestone all season tyres on all year round because we do travel alot to Scotland and the Lakes District and tend to go off the beaten track a bit when Hiking hopefully will sell the Bridgestone summer tyres on Gumtree πŸ‘. I can see your point regarding the Cvt oil so will wait for the warranty to run out and make some enquiries for both Cvt and diff oil changes. Will keep to the 0w 20w as the car is brand new but I must admit I did use some oil while the car was running in roughly half a litre but since the car had its first service its stable, same quote as you Β£80 for full rotation which I suppose is reasonable to keep the AWD system happyπŸ‘, you mentioned about having the car under sealed is this OK to have done while car is under warranty?, wishing you safe and reliable travels πŸ‘
  4. Thanks Justin time for so, so much information regarding the Outback, I to got the three year service deal at 12000 mile intervals, my wife only does 8000 miles a year so the oil changes for the next few years won't be to lengthy after that I will get the oil changed every 6000 miles, are you going to stick to the 00 20w or change to a slighter thicker viscosity for the future as per Mr Subaru suggests on you tube ?. Getting tyres rotated next week, I still have the original bridgestone summer tyres in my garage which I changed to bridgestone all season when we got the car so will change back to summer tyres in May, must admit its a bit complex when it comes to having to change all tyres if one is unrepairable the AWD system must be so unique, I do have several cans of tyre weld in boot for emergency use plus the tyres on the car are run flat for a reasonable distance so fingers crossed 🀞 all goes well. I have read about issues with the Battery with suggestions of replacement every three years would you agree with that ?, also CVT gear oil change and differential oils every 60000 miles not forgetting complete cooling system change after 3 years, any suggestions would be helpful, once again thanks for your very helpful and informative post πŸ‘πŸ‘
  5. Hi everyone, Newbie to the forum and looking forward to learning tips and advice for keeping my Outback Touring 2025 model in tip top condition. This is my first and hopefully not last Subaru having had a Toyota Rav 4 before trading it in for the Outback, main reason for the change was the fact I have family and friends living in Scotland "Thorpe Willoughby " and found the Rav 4 just could not cope with the snow fall in Scotland even with Winter tyres the 4 wheel drive system struggled, the Outback has no such problems totally in a league of its own πŸ‘πŸ‘. I would like to ask anyone about tyre rotation, how often should it be done and the reasons behind it, I've read its very important on the Subaru because of the AWD system, any advice please Thanks.
