  1. Not had chance to record noise as yet. By the way I have a 1988 mv1800 for sale. In reasonable condition. If anybody is interested I can send them pictures and more detail
  2. Hi. It sounds like the same problem I have got with my outback diesel. Is it a knocking noise when cold or when the engine is under load? If so I have been told the injectors have to be replaced at £800 each + labour
  3. I pick it up from the garage tomorrow so will record noise and post it. The knock sounds like a big end in a conventional engine. Would be glad of any thoughts Cheers
  4. Is there any other outback owners who have been having problems with the diesel engine? My outback was making a very loud knocking noise on start up after about 30k miles. I was told it is just the noise it makes. I am now on 80k with the same noise and have been told I need new injectors at a cost of £4000. Although reported well within warranty Subaru have washed their hands of the problem. My advise is don't buy a diesel Subaru.
