  1. We've got the same car from Japan with the same mileage and the same knocking noise. Did we just become best friends?
  2. aahh cool ok. Stant have you seen step brothers with will ferell and John c reilly?
  3. Sounds the same, I'll do a vid and show you, did you upload through photo bucket
  4. Love that description, yeah I guess it does, but on over_run (when it's cold and I accelerate gently and then let the accelerator of it sounds like someone playing steel drums until the revs settle. That part really does sound like little end rattle. But again, that goes when warm. When it's warmed up to temp I have 250%more confidence in it. When cold I'm scared and embarrassed..
  5. Thanks loads for the info man
  6. I had a load of quantum synta semi synth left from a bargain buy, it's what I've always run the vws on, which millers mate? If not the ver3/4 then what is a better substitute do you think or will it last forever like this?
  7. Cheers stant , it knocks like f on start up which is embarrassing ha ha but also I do a lot of motorway miles and am terrified of breaking down. I'm a capable mechanic, I just want peace of mind..
  8. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=121424900919 What about this?
  9. Cheers lads
  10. I want to find a low mileage ej20g motor to put in before winter, anyone know of one.?
  11. Rich they re 17, give me an hour and I'll get the tyre size
  12. I'd never put gold wheels on a car but I think they suit the forester in black....
  13. Cheers all, good good info there. It's static, not on coilies. I think the engine is standard, it's just developed a flat spot on acceleration, at about 3500 revs but it gets through it and keeps boosting.. Any ideas? Could be perished vacuum pipes I guess..
  14. Ha ha yeah quality photography No, the gauge I put up was a bar 15 quid gauge.
  15. I really don't know but I can get you pictures if you like and measure ride height etc.
  16. Is this one ok guys? http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&id=181501415607

  19. Cheers Gambit, people ask what it is a lot, my mum calls it a hearse..
  20. cheers stanton, ill try and clock it against a car i know has accurate odo. cheers savage, thats quite a lairy collection,I bet theyre all scary.Theres no boost gauge, can anyone reccommend a reasonable one? do you guys run mechanical boost gauges or electronic?
  21. Could that be the case on mine too Stanton? i thought the odometer was clicking up fast, so my mileage could be less? because it looks so goo inside for a car that has theoretically been as far as the moon.... Don't they change the clocks? or is it just a sticker over the original speedo? cheers man
  22. Its got a overbored, bigger valved, smaller pulleyed, chipped, balanced, etc etc, the guy had a polo g40 and spent 5k rebuilding it and gave it to me for some plant equipment i restored, and i bunked work for 2 months to build it, its 170bhp at the flywheel, i put a remote brake servo and a few other silly bits on. fire extinguisher and stuff. no stereo.stripped to the bones. 1340 supercharged, the 3" exhaust is hidden and only a fake pea shooter is visible from behind, it makes me laugh every time i drive it. the forester gives me smiles but in a more mature way. haha i'll never grow up
  23. This info is gold, cheers, cant wait to start looking at expensive shi7 i cant afford but will eventually if i mow enough lawns heehee. I've still got this, sorry to the anti VAG peeps, but this'll always hold a place in my heart this one is a bit poncy but my bro is a photographer
