    WRX/UK 300 buying advice?

    Hi All, I'm considering going to look at an 05 plate WRX which is being sold as a UK 300. Only thing is i'm not sure it is and i'm wondering if there is any way of telling by looking at the car? The first alarm bell is the car is black... Could have been resprayed? I put the number plate into an insurance site and it came up as a WRX 300. Sorry if you've been through this before but what is the difference between the UK 300 and WRX 300 and how can you tell if the car is actually one of these?!! I know people can muck about with badges etc and this one seems to have STI everywhere.. Confused! Any info gratefully received.
