Oh has anyone had a go at spraying their own skirts before? I'm tempted to give it a try to save myself some money. Can't cost much more than about £30 in paint supplies.
-
Definitely have considered gold, but not so sure. Gold and green are both rather mustardy and bland together I feel. The black is fine, but it's all too dark as a whole, need some colour in there. May play around with orange, if I don't like it I'll go back to silver or something.
-
How did you find them Matt? A pain to clean, or ok?
-
Definitely don't see many about in this colour. Right guys, I've been doing a little bit of playing today with regards to changes. I quite like the idea of orange wheels, and am keen to colour code the skirts. So using Lightroom I did a quick mock up. Thoughts... I've also been considering white wheels, but the cleaning would become tedious.

Ta very much, a family I've wanted to be a part of for years!
-
I'm with you there, estates seem to be doing it for me lately.
-
Don't get me wrong, I couldn't care less, and would have bought it if it were standard. It's just interesting to know.

Good morning guys. A week or so ago I was asking advice about a potential buy, and here is what I ended up with... It's a 2002 WRX wagon, in green, with a few modifications. I've always liked the wagons, they are more understated and practical. Don't get me wrong, I love a good STi with a massive wing etc, but something about a wagon just seems more fun. Anyway, this is my first Impreza, and even this one was perhaps a little bit of a stretch when it comes to affording it. However, it's been one of those cars I've always wanted, and now I'm scratching that itch. The car has had a few bits done by the previous owner in the last few years. It has been lowered 40mm on Apex spings, has pink injectors, a Walbro fuel pump and a Revolution turbo back exhaust with a decate up-pipe. It has also been remapped to suit these modifications. The car hasn't been dyno'd since this was all done, so not really sure what it's running. Previous owner estimated around 280bhp. Sound about right? So here are the photos. The wheels need refurbishing, but I thinkg I'll step away from the black, and I'm planning on painting the skirts. Besides that I'll just be tidying it up a little and enjoying it.

Just looked, and that blob is in Shildon, which may as well be Scotland. I'm in Bournemouth.
-
I did see that blob, but it's the mileage that put me off. I realise that's not really high for a looked after Subaru, but I'm thinking of resale value in a couple of years time too.

Have just come across this, which is incredibly local. Am having a look tomorrow eveninghttps://www.gumtree.com/p/subaru/subaru-wrx-2002-fsh-280bhp-vgc-94000miles/1138533294

There may be history of the remap and all work carried out, but the seller isn't brilliantly helpful. I'd more than happily go and have a look/check the history, but the car is close to 200 miles away from me, so I'd really need to be sure it's at least worth the effort before I took the trip - hence asking on here.
-
You'd think so, but I swear prices are going up. Can't find a blob for that sort of price with half decent mileage. As for the map, I really don't know, and the seller seems to know very very little about it.

Good evening all, more of a lurker here and long time impreza lover. I've been toying with the idea of finally buying an impreza, as i have a little money to spare and now seems like the right time. I have been searching the net for a while, looking for the right one. I kind of like the idea of a wagon, and don't want to break the bank just yet. I have spotted this wagon, and it's got the right styling, but upon asking for a photo of the engine bay it appears the intercooler is front mounted, which leads me to believe lots of other stuff has been done to the car. So, opinions please. Does anyone see anything that stands out as a warning? I see the skirts aren't original, and the fog covers due to FMIC. I'll try and get a photo up of the engine bay. http://www.krystalcars.co.uk/used-car/subaru/impreza/2-0-wrx-5dr/for-sale-in-nottingham-nottinghamshire/aetv67232852/ EDIT: Not ideal, but heres a link to the engine bay shot - https://www.flickr.com/photos/tp-photography/shares/Wa06s5

Just had a look at the three linked. The 3rd one isn't bad, but the others I saw before and discounted instantly for a number of reasons.
-
Further afield isn't a problem, it's just finding time with work. Happy to up my budget for the right car, but only after a 10+ year old wrx, so shouldn't need to go my higher
-
I haven't really set one. I was hoping for close to £3k really.
-
This mileage is too high, but if someone could find me this in this location with these extras I'd be a happy man... http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/131411872922?nav=SEARCH
-
Thanks for the welcome guys. When it comes time to buy ill definitely drop you a line Dan.
-
I looked at that and discounted it due to the number of modifications
-
I know. I hadn't intented to go above 3k really anyway. I've been avoiding sti's mostly for insurance and running costs.
-
Cheers guys. You've all confirmed my suspicions, and will steer clear. I've still got time before I want to upgrade anyway, so plenty of time for searching for the right one.
-
Thanks for the replies, very useful. Because of how local it is I may go and take a look simply so I can use if as a point of reference, but my head is definitely telling me to walk away, especially at that price.

Good evening all. I'm hoping to soon be the owner of a WRX, but need some guidance, I have spotted this one local to me, and feel like going to have a look. From the advert it doesn't seem like the dealer knows much about the car. From what I can tell it appears to have been lowered, which hasn't been mentioned. Can anyone with more knowledge tell me what is on this car that's not standard? Obviously wheels, exhaust, spoiler, but anything under the bonnet, brakes etc? Also, it's a Cat C, is this anything to worry about? And am I right in thinking this is over priced, even for autotrader dealer standards? http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201501069966654/sort/locasc/radius/1500/page/1/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/model/impreza/make/subaru/quicksearch/true/postcode/bh76ha/usedcars?logcode=p
