Hi I have another question I have got myself a subaru impreza wrx 2005 the big ends have gone my question is are the older version engines eg the bottom ends the same as mine or not ? It's the same quad cam it's about a 1995 to 1996 .I may be able to do the big end shells on my engine as it's not that bad just thought I would ask cheers .any help much appreciated also what sort of engine would my 2.0 quad cam 2005 be classed as ?

Only at those rmp if I rev it up hard nothing if I pick the revs up slowly and hold it there sounds to me like engine bit funny how it's got no worse .I'm a mechanic and work on cars every day it's just puzzling me could be a heat shield but sounds more metallic to me : (

Hi I'm new to this I have been and got my self a wrx 2005 39,000 no service history it's had a cambelt. Now iv done a oil and filter on it now when I hold the car at 2500 to 3000 rpm I get a metallic rattle from the engine not horrible iv been driving it and it's got no worse sounds to me more os of the engine .any one got any ideas ?
