    EGR problem (Engine Check Light)

    Hi all My 11 plate diesel forester (37k) is showing a check engine light - along with traction control warning light (lower left on dashboard) The error code i'm reading is R1380 - which indicates a problem with the EGR. I've tried to clear it, but after a short while the light comes on again, so clearly it needs further investigation. My questions are 1. does anyone know what error code R1380 specifically indicates? 2. Is it likely to be the EGR itself or 3. Is it the EGR sensor that's knackered? Also I have no idea where the EGR lives in the engine bay. Can anyone point me in the direction of it? all comments appreciated. cheers :)
