Hi this is my first post on this forum, basically I've got an '02 Outback with a few problems. It's using oil after a few miles and warming up. No smoke from the exhaust really although the engine bay smells a bit oily. It's the EZ30 engine with 112,000 on the clock. I've got a few ideas with this car, different wheels etc. but first I need to address this engine issue, are these engines known for using oil above 100k? Have been quoted £1,200 by a mechanic to fix with no real details as to the problem. Thinking rings, valve stem seals etc. or could it be as simple as a PCV valve? I'm pretty clueless so if anyone's had one of these cars before and has any advice that'd help me out so much! As a side question has anyone here fitted Gram lights to their Outbacks or other Subarus?
Thanks guys (and girls)
