    The original mapper is probably your best bet. Is it an Alcatek simtek? I've read Alcatek are difficult to get hold of. Do these things have a reset to default settings? Would that remove the password?

    Cheers folks, I'm sure I'll enjoy the car and the forum. It's a question of "when", not "if" I make any changes. This time I'm not touching the engine. It being a diesel will probably help that.

    Hi Folks, inadvertently said hello on someone elses newbie post. Doh. So here I am again. Have had several Imprezas, but due to lifes demands now have an XV, which I must say I'm enjoying. Have spotted the XV branch on here so thought I'd join up, there aint many of us out there.

    Hi Folks Have had several imprezas, but due to lifes demands I now have an XV. The missus has a GT86, which I class as a Scoob really. Have already spotted an XV branch on here, so thought I'd join up.
