Subaru sti hatch coilover fitment

Im looking to install coilovers on an 2010 wrx sti hatch and i just want to check something before i dive in. Will i need wheel spacers to clear the coilovers with the stock wheels?  Its never made sense to me because a coilover is so much smaller than the stock suspension but ive ran into this issue before on a mini and it left me stranded on the driveway for a week because the wheel was rubbing on the coilover.  
Also being new to subarus can anyone tell me what the model code is for these.  Like mini have r53 R56 mercedes have w205 , bmw have f80 etc etc.

Hey Josh, I also have a mini (R55). No idea on spacers but not seen anyone mention it.

Hatchback is called a GR I believe.
