Downsizing from Forester to XV

Featured Replies

Pleased to say downsizing from Forester to XV has been OK.
Have had 3 Foresters over more than 20 years while my 2 children were growing up and they were excellent for holiday trips and university runs etc. But now they're past all that and I'm retiring next year it was time to downsize.
So when my 2010 Forester was looking like it might need some expensive work after MOT advisories, I took the plunge. I hadn't bought or looked for a 4x4 in 14 years and couldn't believe how hard it was to get one as I thought I'd look at all makes. So many faux AWD out there. All style and no substance.
So after a 6-week trawl of garages and giving a few other models a go, I realised I could not better a Subaru - so am now the proud owner of a nearly new XV and feel that I've adjusted well to the automatic and hybrid.  Main thing I notice is the smaller boot for shopping and luggage, but think I can cope with that.
Any XV tips or similar experiences?
