  1. Hi there, It would be worth changing the front anti roll bar ‘D’ bushes, I’ve had hard to trace suspension knocks with my Legacy and Outback. Dived in with the Leg, thinking it must be the perished wishbone bushes, changed all of them and the ball joints whilst I was at it - and it still clonked away just as before - changed the ‘D’s’ - peace perfect peace! With the Outback, the guy I bought the car from had one wishbone bush per side changed to try and stop it clonking and supplied the other two, but the originals looked fine. Again, I replaced the D bushes - all sorted! Hope this helps
  2. Hi Greenmamba, Thank you for your response👍 I’ve put an OBD code reader on it - but no fault codes are recorded (apart from a knock sensor code which it records now and then - changing the sensor is on the do list). The gearbox has taken 5 litres and is showing just under full - I used Dextron III fluid and a genuine Subaru gearbox filter. The fluid now looks clean and bright red, but then the car has only done a few miles since the servicing work. Thoughts...? Best regards Andy H
  3. Hi Guys, Just wondering whether anyone has any knowledge or experience of these possibly connected - possibly not - issues with my 02 Forester? The car came to me last year as the previous owner was advised the rear subframe was rusty enough to fail an MOT. I stashed the car in a barn for the winter and now in the process of sorting it out. I’ve changed the rotten rear subframe and done a service. I’ve noticed that whilst the automatic gearbox works absolutely fine - car has 107,000 miles - I have the ‘power’ light flashing continuously no matter what position the selector switch is in - and there’s a slight clicking/tapping/whirring type noise coming from the gearbox itself. This is not loud or alarming - but it is audible from underneath the car when the engine is running - very much less so from inside the car, though my ear is tuned to it! I’ve changed the autobox fluid and the filter - both very well overdue, the old fluid was pretty brown and the filter clearly hadn’t been changed in a long time - but no change. Wondering whether the power light flashing and the clicking/whirring noise may be linked...? Any ideas fellas? With best regards Andy H
  4. Hi Guys, Wonder whether any of you fellas can diagnose/help with an ABS light snag on my 2002 non turbo Forester. I’ve had the rear suspension in bits to change a rear wheel bearing. During this I had to remove the NSR ABS sensor, it came out reasonably well after being doused in release oil. Everything is now back together and the loud howling noise has gone - result - but I have the ABS light on...🤔. I’ve had the NSR brake drum off again to check if anything was obviously amiss. Visually all looks spot on - and so is the ABS light still! I really don’t think I damaged the sensor when removing and refitting it - I took great care with it. Anyone have any suggestions/advice/ideas please? Any tips gratefully received. Thank you. With best regards Andy H
  5. Hi guys, I’m new to the forum, but have had a good few Subarus over the years, from a good few L series through Gen 1 Legacy, Gen 3 and 4. I’ve recently bought a pretty decent 2006 H6 Outback with 98,000 miles on it. It’s just lit it’s management and traction lights - car drives just fine, no limp home mode. Code recorded is H02S bank 1, sensor 1 - I’m just about to order a new O2 sensor - but need to know which sensor to change - and any suggestions of where to get it from? Any intel, suggestions etc, gratefully received. With best regards Andy H
