tking_wrx replied to tking_wrx's topic in New Members Introductions
Ok mate thank you, it shouldn't be anything major as the car drives perfect. Hopefully it is something to do with disconnecting the battery and will sort itself out :/ I the meantime I will keep an ear out for answers. Thanks for all your help. -

Thanks mate, I have been impatient and disco nested the battery now so hopefully will find out in about 20 mins or so, no the garage did not plug the car in so no ecu reset mate. I changed the spark plugs about 3 months ago and was advised from eurocarparts that the gap is preset so just put them straight in and it was fine? -

Update...so I went to the garage today and got the maf and knock sensor replaced and still no changed then noticed that the tee piece between the turbo, solenoid and actuator had melted so though thus was the problem buy when replacing it the garage do not have the correct pipes fir the tee piece so it's now repaired with reducers all over the place and still feels like it hesitates :( -

Hi, thanks for the replies, I have had the car for about 5 months now and since I have had it I have used 99 Ron unless on the rare occasion where the petrol station has run out and I have had to put a bit of standard petrol in. Sorry for the silly question but can I test if it's the coils/lead breakdown? Thanks -
Hi mate, thanks for the reply, I did double check this and it seems fine, don't really know what else it could be?

Hi mate, it's a 2001 bugeye, I have checked the plugs and maf sensor and they fine, when j first got the car it had a manual boost controller on so I reconnected it tk the electronic boost controller and put in a restrictor pill so may need to check the pipes where the restrictor pill is located. If the pipe is split would this cause the same problem (air leakage)? Thanks and sorry for rambling -
I have asked this question on the forum already but j don't think j put it in the right category so here goes, since I changed the oil and fuel filters on my car yesterday and replaced the rear suspension i have had trouble between 4 - 6k, the car dives fine normally but when I put my foot down it feels like the car is hesitating and it keeps backfiring between these revs even whilst driving. Any help is appreciated.

manual boost cobtroller for amateurs

Lol, thanks for the reply mate& this is my first impreza so still learning, I would leave it off but it was originally fitted and was running around 1.5 bar and went like a bat out of hell but I though it was dangerous running 1.5 bar so took it tk a friend who has an impreza and they said you can remove it but now it is dirt slow and runs about 0.5 bar lol and it now runs lumpy as if it was misfiring? -
Hi, please can some one tell me in very simple terms how to fir a manual boost controller?
-
Hi, just to let you know, the boost problem is not Le sorted just refitted the manual boost controller and was able to turn it down but since doing this and using new fuel the car seems to run very sluggish almost as if it want to stall? Any suggestions?

Hi, thank you for your help, I have now uploaded some pictures of the engine and some of the car. I hope this helps explain my question better and the bonnet is open because I was taking photos of engine and disconnecting battery, so the battery reason leads me to another question (really sorry for being such an amateur) the previous owner used standard fuel in the car and I have been advised to use ultimate fuel or v power so when the fuel light came on I filled up with tesco ultimate and the car started to feel very sluggish the next day so I done a bit of research and someone said that when you use a certain fuel over a certain period the ecu will set the engine up to take the fuel and that when you change the fuel the ecu will need to relearn the fuel mixture and adjust the engine accordingly and the best way to assist this is to disconnect the battery to reset the ecu. Is this right or have I been lead astray and am now sounding like a right silly bugger? Sorry for all of the questions and I am very great fun for all the help. Thanks
