  1. I am selling my outback and someones has asked me... any idea what the max weight rating is for the fixed roof rails? i need to know for carrying kayaks. Would anyone know what this is ? many thanks Peter
  2. Sorry.. forgot to say..its the 2.5 auto versions
  3. I've been trying to hang onto the legacy but I think I might have to sell it as I said for manual boring hatchback for my son as family comes first. Anyway I put it through an MOT and it only failed on a tyre. Good Points: Start first time, drives fantastic, 12 months MOT, no rust or damage, cambelt done less than 1000 miles ago etc.... Bad Points: Sunroof doesnt work but maybe just be WD40..A/C works great so never used them. other than that just a few scrapes on the bumpers which Ive not bothered doing.. Please no tyre kickers..Its a 15 year old car in great condition and I have a minimum I need to buy my son's car I am based in cheshire .. I have uploaded a gallery of images called outback under my name smallzoo.. if anyone is interested and has trouble getting the images let me know..
  4. I only bought my outback in October and its been great but I need to get a simple manual car for my son to drive and I cant afford both now, so I was going to put the feelers out with the subaru clubs first Its a 1999, Legacy Outback , Blue over silver, 107k, engine is brilliant, just had service and cambelt. No rust or anything like that. A few marks on the bumpers, top of the range with electric seats etc.. Drop me a line if anyone is interested Cheers
  5. I have an old T reg subaru outback which does not have any rear headrests. Im happy to look at breakers yards but does anyone know if I have to look at a particular year or would headrests from a wide range of years fit ? Thanks
  6. Initially I am looking for rear headrests and front/back bumper for my 1999 Outback estate(blue over grey) anyone suggest the best place to look for these ? Thanks
  7. Thanks for that but Ive seen quite a few posts on the web to say that you cant tell from the look of the belt whether its going to go and also the pulleys wear too
  8. I bought a 1999(T) Subaru Outback 2.5. Its done 107k miles and seems to run well but the last 'real' history invoice is from 2005 when the cambelt was done at 48800 miles. Should I be worried and get it done immediately..I dont want the engine breaking... I'm not a mechanic so apologies for the simple question.. What sort of cost should I expect at an independent garage Thanks
  9. Thanks, managed to get someone to look at it for me..and.. I BOUGHT IT ! I havent had chance to drive it much but it seems a fine drive.. bit battered on the outside so need repairs on the bumpers or maybe i will find someone breaking one.. The only issue I guess is that the last recorded service was 2005 when the cambelt was done (49k miles ) and its now done 109k. apparently it was serviced by the local garage but no paperwork. I suppose I may have to stump up the £200 to do it just in case
  10. I have seen a cheap Legacy Outback in cambridge ( 2.5 Outback 5dr Auto Estate 1999, 107k miles, VGC, loads of history ) which is about 3 hours from me Is there anyone in the cambridge area that could look at an outback for me ?.. happy to pay fuel and a bottle of wine.. Obviously it would be nice if you know enough to spot a rogue ! If anyone can or knows of someone who can look over the next few days that would be great
