    Engine Compatibility

    Hello everyone. I am quite new to owning a Subaru and very new to this forum but but I do have an imported Forester st/b. I am looking to replace the engine, which recently overheated but do not know if the replacement is compatible. The engine code taken from the strut top of my Forester is EJ20GDW1NY. The code for the possible replacement is EJ20GDX1MY. Is there an way of finding out whether the replacement will be fine in my car? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Jonathan
