  1. The brakes have lovely bite for a few corners then began to fade, it may just be a cheap set of discs and pads as the receipt from the previous owner doesn't show make or cost of the parts just labour and caliper recon, I might slide a pad out and see what make
  2. I've never had a bearing sound like that but I suppose it could have had dirt/sand get inside and make that sort of noise I'll have a play about with it 2moz :) what are your brakes like? Iv found mine overheat fairly quick with hard driving, I'm just thinking wether or not it's like previous cars of mine where they haven't been the top spec sport model and end up with majour fade compared to the bigger version?
  3. I popped around a family members earlier to show them the scoob (they liked it btw) anyhow when I decided to go home I stuck it in reverse and set off the driveway before I applied the brakes to put it back into 1st I thought I heard grinding, had a quick look around everything seemed fine so continued with the short drive home about 1 mile later the grinding came back, it was coming from read drivers side wheel, I haven't managed to take a look since but the grinding wasn't a constant thing and seemed more so when no throttle applied any ideas where I should look 1st? I'm thinking check for stones inbetween the brake shield and disc but I would also asume I'd hear the grinding all the time
  4. I can't seem to upload any pics how can I so it on iPhone?
  5. The sun strip will be removed but everything else I like ATM
  6. So after a set back with spare cash, and many weeks of looking I have found myself a motor that has ticked most my boxes :) I got myself a blob eye wrx 88k on the clocks and at the moment she seems sweet :)
  7. What colour was it you wanted?
  8. I've got patience I'll be waiting for the right one thanks :)
  9. Ok I assumed it would be a turbo but wasn't sure and I wouldn't have guessed pinks :) my "fast cars" have only been 106gti and a civic type r
  10. I'll have a look at modded ones it's just very easy to make it look like it's been cared for, what's a Vf35 and a pinks? Is the sti top mount bigger than the wrx's?
  11. Boozydave what mods have you done to yours to get 330? I have until august before I need to renew my insurance so I'm happy to wait for the right one, I'll only have one that's fsh and looks standard or as close to :)
  12. Cheers, if the cat in the up pipe isn't normally an issue then I won't get rid of it, I think I just typed common impreza wrx faults on google, I'll run it on bps expensive juice as the stations just up the road from me, again cheers for that
  13. That looks good I'll be having part done when I get a impreza, an old friend of mine has started up his hydrographics dipping, if anyone's from the midlands and wants quotes I'll forward his details :)
  14. Ok cheers again hopefully I'll be able to help people when I get one, it'll probably be my display pic but you all will be kept upto date :)
  15. Cheers again, I've been trying to get completely standard, I'm handy with a spanner so breaks aren't an issue, the sensors on the other hand could be, is there a Subaru specific code reader that would be needed or any decent generic one could do the job? I used to own a civic afew years ago a generic reader would be ok on a lot of stuff but couldn't tell which abs sensor was a problem. I'm hoping to be keeping this motor for a long time and will be doing most servicing and upgrades/repairs myself so I may be asking for more help as there's always an easier way :D
  16. Seems good looking through the forum, so the impreza doesn't really have any mojo ur flaws I need to look for it's just the usual stuff really? I read somewhere else that there is a "up cat" before the turbo and it breaks up? Is it still the case for a blob eye wrx? How easy is it to get to and remove if it is problematic? Sorry for all the questions it's just I'll be buying one hopefully this month and will put my own touches on it before she's on the road
  17. Cheers will start the reading :) seems like a helpful forum
  18. Hi guys, sorry if this always comes up but I'm looking at getting a blob eye impreza wrx, I have upto 4.5k could stretch further but as I get a few decent looked after ones around that price I'm happy to leave it at that. I could do with knowing what to look out for, obviously usual knocks and bangs, check that everything electrical works, gearbox feels tight, turbo boosts with no smoke, no smoke on start up, oil and service history anything else/specific to the impreza I should look out for? Also I'm 24 and my insurance on the wrx is around 1k with Adrian flux I'm more than happy to pay that but anyone else have a better insurance company as I only went on a couple of comparison sites, cheers in advance guys
