It's sold, and I have no Subaru - back before too long with an Impreza hopefully. Sadly, the time has come to sell our superb 2.0L Turbo Forester with only 93,500 miles with full history (most seem to have a huge amount of miles). We've owned and enjoyed the car for 2 years, but we need to go super sensible for a while (hopefully an Impreza turbo will replace soon!). As you're reading this, you already know just how fantastic these are to drive, especially with the smooth power delivery of the turbo version, wonderfully reliable to own, and great to go absolutely anywhere on any adventure. Very sorry to see it go, we have had some great times in this car Recent front discs plus pads all round and 2 new tyres. Oil and Filter 2K miles ago. Really won't need pads or tyres for a long, long time. Full Subaru service history until we bought the car at 66K miles, then specialist serviced since. Small dent in rear bumper and some bumper scrapes from the previous owner. One of the headlight washer jets has been knocked off, but the car is priced accordingly. Electric windows, Air conditioning, CD player, Leather trim, Heated seats, Height adjustable driver's seat, Height adjustable passenger seat, Folding rear seats, Child seat points (Isofix system), 16" Alloy Wheels, Power steering, Steering wheel rake adjustment, Cruise control, Traction control, Roof rails, Central locking, Alarm, Immobiliser, Driver's airbags, Side airbags, Passenger airbags. For sale at £3,400, which I've based how much I've seen the Turbos sell for, and the mileage and condition of this one ............. lots more photos available ........... car is in Sevenoaks, Kent.

Manufactured by Titan Covers, and cost me £87.00 Opened only to try it into my Forester, but it is very different Velcros in and fixes to rear seat headrests Allows rear seats to be folded down / even split fold Extension to cover bumper This was an accidental order. I actually need one of these for a Subaru Forester, but I ordered the wrong item Collection from Sevenoaks or Tonbridge welcome or I can post at cost.

Sorry for the delay. GDA did a great job without any laser assistance and for a whole lot less money. It's 90% better. I've done the car park and petrol forecast tests, and no squealing. Still there on mid-speed corners a bit, but that's all. Interestingly, the guy needed to get some oxy acetylene heat applied to loosen a couple of the adjusters enough - proving that ATS clearly either couldn't be bothered, or didn't know what they were doing? Would be better if they just told me that they couldn't do it - it cost me over £60, and the mis-alignment that they managed to put in has cost me a tyre! Still keen to get it round to 'wheels in motion' though, just to get it spot-on. Time & money is the problem now though. This car is really growing on me - love driving it.

It's about an hour & a half away, so may have been worth it. I have GDA booked for tomorrow now. they come well recommended, so hopefully they can sort it out. I would cancel and change, but time is precious at the moment sadly. I'll let you know how it goes, might be worth a recommendation if it all works out (fingers crossed)

Thanks Mr B. I have a friendly local garage where I can use a ramp (usual Saturday morning social), but no time, so I've spoken to GDA http://gdasportcars.co.uk/ who seem to be very knowledgeable with a lot of Subaru experience, and booked it in for next Tuesday - they even have loan cars. Without doubt ATS cocked it up - I've taken a look at their check sheet that they fill in when it arrives, and it states that all 4 tyres are min 7mm inner, centre & outer, so the tyre has scrubbed out since he did it! It was £60. I really don't want them to have another go though! It's going to cost me a tyre as well.
-
It has just had an MOT, but that wouldn't necessarily show something bent and hidden, or camber problems. I must admit, the bloke who did the tracking for me was struggling a bit. I'm going to call GDA and see if they can recommend somebody who is experienced with setting up AWD tracking, and can spot anything amiss.
-
FINALLY - I have had time to grab the car and run it down for a £60 laser set up. The screen showed that both back and from were wrong camber, so I had it all done, but not really much better. The nearside front tyre is starting to seriously scrub out on the front now, so I need to get this sorted. I've been recommended GDA in Fordcombe as my nearest firm to help with all things Subaru. I'de much rather sort this than move the car on - everything else about the car is great!

No, I've not had a minute all week. Hopefully next week at some point!
-
The downside is .... As a replacement for our RAV4, this will get used for dogs and gardening. I'll let you know how the tracking goes ...... If I can get the keys off my wife!
-
66K on this one, with leather, cruise, super-size sunroof etc, and no worse than the RAV4 on fuel. Nothing like as quick as some Imprezas that I've driven, but suprisingly good fun for the weekends !!
-
Will do. To be honest, one idea was to sell it on and make a couple o' bob, but I've always had a passion for the whole flat-four thing, and my wife would rather we sold her RAV4 .... so it's a keeper!

Thanks All! .... what a great Forum. I think maybe a good laser set up as a starting point. This should show up pothole damage or mis-alignment. Tyres are not 'budget', and are fairly new with all the same wear. This could have ben a recent pothole. The car was a great low mileage find, driven only by an older guy who has had an MOT and service every year, and would never notice anything amiss (the downside is the bumper scrapes on all 4 corners). Cheers

Thanks David, it's a tyre skidding squeel on the road rather than something on the tyre, the same as you would expect from a tyre that needs air. I'm thinking that if the toe-in isn't right, it may be crabbing a bit and 'dragging the tyre around the corner.

Hi All, I'm a newbie on here, and have just bought a 2005 Forester 2.0XT. Lovely car, but there is an odd thing with it .... the front offside tyre squeels when turning right (especially at lower speeds!) Tyre pressure is okay (28PSI), the tyres are nearly new Yokhama Geolandars, and it's just flown through an MOT. Should I suspect tracking & toe-in, or has anybody had similar. Thanks, and looking forward to getting involved with the Forum.
