  1. Thanks for the information. I've been contacting a few Subaru Specialists I know to get a bit more help and recommendations of where to go for the gearbox rebuild.
  2. Hi All, I expect there is a post on gearbox rebuilds, but I can't seem to find one, so apologies if there is. I have been told by my Subaru Specialist that my 05 Blobeye Impreza WRX needs a gearbox rebuild. I have been noticing a whining sound for a while now and thought it might have been the wheel bearings, but unfortunately it is much worse, the gearbox. I am quite sad about it. I have been quoted £1,500 for a gearbox rebuild, but with uprated parts, racing spec parts, so it will be a lot stronger and last the life of the car. If it needs a new clutch as well, then the total bill will be £2,000! Is this a good price and if not, has anyone got any recommendations of where to go? I live in the Maidstone, Kent area. I was told that the gearbox for my generation of Impreza WRX is known for not being as strong, but I don't really know. Does anyone else know if that is the case or has had to have a gearbox rebuild? My Subaru has done just over 143,000 miles on the current gearbox, again I don't know if that is good or not. Thanks in advance for your help. Michael
  3. Will I be able to go up the strip if I am in the main car park or do I have to get there early to get a spot in the Autoglym Show Car Paddock?
  4. Hi, Please could I have one of the spots on the Club Stand? I have an 05 plate Subaru Impreza WRX. Cheers
  5. Thanks for all the comments and advice. I am getting the wheels refurbished at a wheel specialist, but they have so many gold colours and quite a few are similar to the original colour. I have been told that they don't always turn out the same colour as the swatch. Gambit what do I need to tell Halfords or the Wheel Specialist, so that they can get the original colour? Thanks.
  6. Hi Everyone, I have got an 05 plate Subaru Impreza WRX, which has 17" alloy wheels. They are a light gold colour and I think they are a standard colour for that year. I want to have them refurbished and I want the colour to be the same. Does anyone know the colour code for these alloy wheels or know where I can find this out? Thank you. Michael
  7. Thanks everyone. I have just had a look at the wheel specialist and there is one based near Chessington, which is not that far away. Thank you Salsa-King, I will contact them and see what they can do.
  8. Hi All, I am looking at getting my alloy wheels refurbished, but I want them to be the same original colour, so I think they will need to go to a specialist who can colour match them. Does anyone know anywhere in the Surrey/Kent area? Thank you. Michael
  9. Hi, I have an O5 plate Subaru Impreza WRX and I have been having issues with the driver’s side front electric window. There is a clicking noise every so often coming from inside the door. When it clicks and you try to open the window there is a 5-10 second delay before the window actually opens. I have had the motor and regulator replaced, which cost a fortune, but I am still getting the clicking sound and delay. Could it be a relay problem, because of the clicking? I feel it is a deeper issue to do with the electrics. Can anyone help please? Thanks. Michael
