Looking to get some new disc's front and back for my classic sti. Are EBC Ultimax any good?
-
The blitz exhaust wasn't a success, turns out that the system on the car at the moment doesn't break at the same location as standard. So have sold the exhaust, got what I paid so all good. Bought some alloys which should come shortly. Gone with BK 333's
-
Yeah £800 including tyres what about these?
-
Well the car has been sitting at home for a wee while without me as my work has had me in Singapore Since November. Had people starting her up and taking it for a spin. While I have been away bought a pioneer double din stereo, upgraded the front speakers and bought a Blitz Nur Spec R cat back system. All waiting to go on when I return at the end of the month Now looking for some nice alloys to replace the current ones which i'm going to keep for my winter set
-
When I bought my STI it came with winter tyres and some scruffy looking alloys I want to take this opportunity to get a new set for the summer season coming up I have around £800 to spare for a set, can anyone give me an idea of what looks good on a silver classic for that price? My consider 2nd had also if anyone knows of a good set going

I have ordered some new silicon vacuum pipe. Just going to replace them all Also putting it in to a guy who lives close at the end of a month to have a good run over it. He knows his impreza's so hopefully get to the bottom of everything

I am looking to replace my vacuum pipe that goes from the dump valve back to the manifold There are various different sizes in mm What is the best size to go for?
-
Just thinking This wont work will it because I have a Alcatek ecu How do you then look for faults in the system
-
Right just plugged the black plugs together and I get nothing seems to happen I connected the black plugs Then turned the ignition to on I then have to press my immobiliser for the lights to come on When I do that the car just does its normal Check engine light just stays lit Am I doing something wrong because there is 100% issues with the car somewhere :(
-
Me too Gambit :D
-
Exact same colour I had :) I just recently bought my sti but I was actually also looking at the S13 but its expensive for a good one
-
I just wanted to know what exactly they had done to the car more than anything else I will be replacing the FMIC soon anyway would be handy if that was the problem :) Will also replace the DV at the same time
-
Welcome Of all my cars the 200sx is probably one of my favourites, great car :) 325bhp would have made it a beast too

Sent an email to the company who mapped the car, they have come back with this: Martyn would very likely have some stored data on the car, although it may not have much bearing on the way it is right now. Mapping is unequivocal, in that any settings are going to stay the way we left them in terms of relative output. I can only assume it was ok previously, or the man would have been back for another go! Any mapping can only be long term successful if everything associated with the car’s management system remains in good order. The Alcatek has full closed loop idle control and should stay where it’s put. A few examples of failures leading to idle problems; Air leaks from gaskets or hoses MAP sensor faults Throttle pot faults Lambda sensor faults Idle valves sticking Wiring issues Leaking injectors or injector seals Etc.. There have also been rare instances of track failures from the ECUs. You have a couple of choices to deal with it, either bring to us or take it to another person to check it out. If anyone else wants to map the car they can do so, but they need to obtain the codes from Alcatek to allow it, then they have to set it up from scratch. (This isn’t our doing, incidentally)

Also just had another look and the MAF isn't even plugged in. Surely that's not right?
-
read on that article you just gave me about how to do it that one of connections resets the ecu
-
Thanks Will give this a go tomorrow, it wont have any effect on the ecu map will it?
-
I normally in the morning go out the the car and switch it on, then go in and collect my things for work. Just to give the car a little time to warm up I just start it from outside the car, when I turn the key the car doesn't seem to have a steady enough idle and it conks out. I just start it again and it will start ok but I need to leave it a few minutes for it to run ok Something isn't right somewhere, hoping its an easy fix No I havent had a look for codes. Where about under the dash is the plugs?
-
Past couple of days the car has been idling a little rough while cold Once its warm runs fine Had a look around the engine bay for anything obvious but cant see anything Anyone point me in the normal locations to look? What I did see was the lambda sensor on decat downpipe being in place but wire cut off, there are no warning lights on dash. Could this be bypassed in ecu or something?
-
Just had a look and the Japspeed one is £300 posted, that's a price I will be happy to pay Think the problem has been that the car is actually a 97 registered car and I believe is slightly different from 96 and below engines. They have probably just bought a classic IC without looking properly Core is good but doesn't seem to have any branding on it
-
Wasn't an area I was really looking into but after a wee look around the engine bay area I think I will have to swap it for a better fitting IC Any ideas which kit for a good fit at a good price? Loads on ebay but guessing most of them are pants
-
For me it looks like a cheap eBay kit and doesn't really sit that well
-
Does the IC pipe work look like its for a different version though?
-
Recently bought a sti with some work to take it up the the standard it should be at Has 331bhp HKS filter TD05 turbo FMIC Alcatek ECU Straight through exhaust Thats all I know that has been done to the engine Here is some photos, many more to come along the way :D
