MODIFIED LIVE CADWELL PARK SATURDAY Saturday 25th April 2015
scoobyranger replied to Gambit's topic in Car Shows
Gutted I can't make this with you lot. :( Hopefully I'll make an appearance after work (14:30ish) if they're still letting people in to go round and if they're still doing the tickets at the gate? If not, tough luck for me. -
The guy in Stockport gave me chance to move me forward to today. Not only did he go out his way to get me in, but was cheaper than everywhere else who quoted and the paint match is incredible. I can't tell in the slightest where the damage was. The paint he used was actually a yamaha paint and it is a pretty perfect match in my eyes. I'll put some pics up when I get chance. http://www.alloywheelrepaircheshire.co.uk/ Highly recommended.

Yeh, idk why. Presumably to encourage people to just buy new? I tried the wheel specialist but everywhere was booked up, want it doing soon. This guy in Stockport was last bet literally cos of the distance and finding time in the day. But so far he seems to be the best and going out of his way to fit me in asap. I'll get some pics up after and get the paint code he uses to see how good the match is.
-
Pretty sure you won't get the paint code as it isn't released to subaru uk. I've tried. Kerbed mine slightly :( as I had to leave it on the road. Pulled up nicely, thought I could get closer as I know what you manc drivers are like ;) and didn't fancy getting swiped. Needless to say, I couldn't get closer. Getting mine done in Stockport on Tuesday so will let you know.

Good spot. I'm interested.
-
I insisted on getting them included free. I'll try put a pic up tomorrow. In the meantime though, these are them. http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/mobile/product/CARPET_MAT_SET_STI_J505EVA200RH

80 miles seems slightly steep for delivery miles? Does look pretty decent though ;) Whereabouts you based mate?
-
Good stuff. Anyone got any advice for a good quick launch?
-
I think 380bhp is a little optimistic tbh but I'm deff no expert. Exhaust options, someone is selling a milltek cat-back on here I think. Hayward n Scott seem to be a popular choice. Sun-roof?! A bit 90's for across here! ;) I know it was an option on the US wrx. Aero kit you can order via your dealer if you want. Approx £1200 for full kit fitted. Alternatively you could opt for the HT autos kit which is a bit cheaper I think. Not sure about warranty though. (that's if you were meaning the under spoilers aero kit btw)

As previously said you should be ok. I had exactly the same problem, rang 5 times to check. Even had a disagreement saying "but it's not an impreza! " lol What I did was steal someone else's 2015 reg off autotrader and asked what car it came up as on their database. So you could try that to double check. Just don't forget to change the policy to your reg before purchasing!
-
Haha. Contentious one methinks. Has anyone named their car?
-
Road trip today I think. Gonna try Wolds I think to louth circuit back round from grimsby/cleethorpes then head completely opposite way either peak District or Yorkshire dales.
-
Anyone got any decent driving road suggestions?
-
Not much tuning available atm as far as I'm aware. A few have had exhaust and remap getting approx 340-350bhp. Bare in mind though, subaru uk will not honour any warrantys on performance modified cars. What you might be able to get away with though in terms of swapping parts and whether remaps are recorded on the ecu after being returned std is a different matter. Apparently scooby clinic have a 400hp option but I haven't seen any packages released yet. If your set on tuning, might be worth getting in touch with the clinic or maybe even Litchfield? After you've run it in a bit obv ;)

Thinking about getting some proper car paint protection done. Would rather an experienced professional car detailer than a dealer. Anyone have any experience of the gleaming car company near louth? Thinking about having the new car protection done. A ceramic sealant apparently. Any good or recommend alternatives? Thanks in advance
-
Yeh, there's a few of us. The dealer told me it doesn't need running in, although I'm taking the first 1000 fairly steady. What colour? As for meets, check the meet section. Don't think there's any local ones planned atm although cadwell is coming up.

Make sure you drive both if you can. The standard model seems to pick-up around 3k revs, boost kicks in and before you know it your shifting up imo. Absolutely love being in mine. That being said, with the new civic type r and the focus rs kicking out around 300-350hp, I guess I can understand why people feel the scoob should have a bit more. As for dealers saying they are selling like hot cakes, that might be the experience at some but I was able to eventually get a decent deal so don't let that put you off a bit of haggling etc (not much room granted but should get some basic extras thrown in in my experience). Oh, and the countdown is 13 days now ;)

So you've ordered a new wrx sti and don't know what reg your getting? Lol I assume you've ordered from mangoletsi. I have only heard good things regarding them and the remap. Haven't driven the mapped one myself. Does it also have the aftermarket exhaust? (believe it's hayward n Scott if it does). The main thing I'd personally consider would be the warranty. As it is modified, the warranty won't be with subaru uk, probably a third party via the dealer. I might get shouted at for directing you elsewhere, but on scoobynet in the members gallery, there is a MY15 STI thread where this is mentioned a fair bit. Might be worth having a quick check on there. And I'm sure you'll enjoy it haha

Maybe now would be the right time to submit my application. Wouldn't mind presenting top gear ;)
