Car just back from the garage, can't find out why the EML / MIL / ECU light won't illuminate, and can't tell which sensor if any has gone on the autoleveling light system... good grief its so annoying!! probably one wire cut somewhere... the LED in the dash cluster appears to be fine anyone got a clue? or an Electrical diagnostic software i could download, mac / windows?

Well tried the VAG com diagnostic with SSM software, got the fault codes come up for the secondary air issues, but nothing come up for the self leveling warning lamp and nothing to say the EML was off, how can I switch it back but not the air intakes faults.?

if i can return a favour i downloaded the subaru forester 06 repair manual, if you haven't got it and need anything give me a shout.. i think i can work out how to send it.. Dropbox files

hey guys had a good old root around under the dash for this black cable..nothing taped up anywhere, only one i can see thats similar is a constantly connected with a white connector? other than disconnecting this?? I can't find one? thats the data read cable? 2006 Forester 2.5XTE thanks in advance

another query...yeah i know summers here..lol Ive got the 16 pin black, the 2 green connectors,(separated) is there supposed to be a black pair? maybe thats why the EML never comes on? and fuse 4 is missing from engine compartment fuse panel but there are no spades to accept a fuse?

Hey guys... Think I've cocked up already... Doh.. I got one of those wifi dongle things obd2 Eml something or other...which works with iPhone, and then I'd download an app, dash commander or something similar. But now I think I've got the wrong thing as Subaru is SSM..? Have I cocked up or will it work... Sorry

Not doing too well can't even find the software.. Might be easier for simple me just to get fault code kit

thanks again Mr B.. not sure if diagnostics are working.. as light is off? seems to run ok but not sure if its been turned off to hide something?? cruise light not on coming but then that doesn't work either...lolh! :P (laughs out load hysterically!!)

oh ok. 2006.. saw lots of bulbs but no space for the EML.. unless i split the dash cluster case? which I don't know if i should even attempt that.. I thought there would be a fuse to check but can't find one in the book.. ha ha unless the EML is called something else... who'd be a mechanic.. you need a computer science these days!!

Took a quick peek there doesn't appear to be a bulb you can get at for the EML? do I have to split the dash unit apart once you've got it out? thanks

Hi Guys Anyway i can check why the EML apparently doesn't light up during startup? fuses, relay, easy to get at bulb (sigh)) i can't do anything too complicated...oh but the auto light levelling light does work..grrrrr

It might be that it's not set to uk. That's why it won't accept postcodes? Should be fine if set to uk... Mine did same

Cheers guys, bought my last car private, had a nightmare fudged turbo, blown heater matrix a nail welded into an injector... Smudged log book not 1 owner ---10!!! I'm obviously not very good at buying cars

Thought a dealer would be safer.. How wrong can you be.. No chance of getting money back, , misleading and aggressive practices, sellling a vehicle contrary to section 75 road traffic acts, unsatisfactory goods act... Still won't play ball.. so going to have to sort faults myself..

first time Subaru..Forester 2.5 XTE sweet drive.. but got a bum steer from the dealer, firstly had to pay an extra £200 towards getting the headlights to work after buying the car, then auto levelling not working, dash warning light on, sunroof is cracked, cruise control not working and drivers heated seat not working.. no joy from dealer won't refund, having to get trading standards in. what do you reckon, no fuses blown , no relays blown , greased the auto levelling arms, not ceased,...auto electrician or Subaru diagnostic? Sat nav update disc (2004) bit of a joke £250+ to upgrade? thanks in advance..
