the fob worked in the car only once, when the AA guy tried it. Hasn't worked since. I changed the battery in the fob this morning with no result, that's when I changed the connector or the main battery. I went for a 50 mile run in the car to boost the battery to see if that helped and it made no difference. I don't live near any power lines either, I had read about that but none of them around me. It worked sweet for 18 months and now it just doesn't. I was in there for 20 minutes trying to use both fobs around the steering wheel and all around the pedals with no result. Hi everyone, sorry to be a pain but I'm having an absolute Mare with my 04 wrx blob eye. I have tried to read through numerous posts but haven't found any with the solution (similar problems, but I have had no success fixing it) It started a few weeks ago when both of my keys just stopped opening the door remotely, obviously setting the alarm of when i used the key to open the door, Luckily I knew the 4 digit code so used that to shut it up and de-activate the immobiliser. Got AA out and he literally just used the fob under the steering wheel and it locked/unlocked as if nothing was wrong. He said maybe the main battery was a bit dead and that might have been effecting it. Since then, it's happened loads, at really annoying times. And now doesn't work at all. I've changed the battery in the fob, (I don't think i need to program it again as I didn't last time I changed the battery) I've striped the wire going to the big car battery and replaced the connector as the connection was a bit loose. Still don't work. I'm getting very sad about it now and am slowly falling out of love with her. (Had to replace front wishbones a few weeks earlier as one snapped somehow (I don't rag the car around) in fact I treat her with love and effection, but that may soon stop too. Please help, Many, many thanks in advance. Cheers, Gary Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

Yeah, it does seem that way, i'm gonna ring around a few places and see what the best price I find is. I'll post up here if I find somewhere cheap. I was hoping one of you scooby nuts out there would have gone through all this before and have found a fantastic little locksmiths that do scooby keys for £20. No such luck ay. Cheers everyone. I was considering that, but could really do with a fully working spare key at home, especially when my mrs goes to work taking her keys and my keys sometimes [emoji35] Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

[emoji22] they guy at Subaru said he'd code a real key for about £60, but finding an uncut real key seems to be the problem. Cheers Tidgy Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

Hi everybody, When I bought my wrx it only came with one key, recently the key I do have seems to be playing up a bit and I'm worried it will stop working soon. Does anybody know where you can get cheap keys, I spoke to Subaru and they are quoting £250 cut and programmed

Hi mate, I'm far from a Subaru expert but I do know it stands for Subaru Tecnica International. I'm guessing it's Subaru's high performance part of the company, like the M-series on Bmw and AMG on Mercs. I wouldn't know if you have a genuine STI or just an STI spoiler or just a random sticker. Cheers Sam, I can't wipe the smile off my face. Every time the turbo kicks in, or when I drive under a bridge and hear that beautiful boxer purr I just can't help grinning from ear to ear. Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

The units in there it's just the belt missing. I see there are a few available on eBay that ain't too expensive so if it doesn't work once I put the belt on its not the end of the world. Nice one boys. Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

Cheers Gambit. That puts my mind at ease, and good point about the coolant. For all I know there is no anti-freeze in there at all. I'll probably have a better idea how it really is next week after I've changed the cam-belt and serviced it. Thank you all for your speedy replies guys. Really appreciate it. Ps. Just remembered, when I got it home I realised there was no air conditioning belt, weirdly when I test drove it I tested the air con and it was quite cold but not brilliant, I assumed it must have just needed re-gassing which I thought was a minor. When I noticed there was no belt I realised that all I was feeling was the cold air. Really noticed it yesterday when it was 24 degrees stuck on the m25. Fingers crossed it's just the belt missing and that they haven't taken it off for more expensive reasons. [emoji45] Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

Ok. Cheers guys. If I'm honest I didn't really fancy fitting the extra gauges but if that what's needed to stop me worrying then maybe that's what I'll have to do. So does where the needle is sitting look alright or should it be bang in the middle, if different scoobys sit at different levels then I won't worry but if mine is the only one that sits at that level the. I'll have to dive deeper into why. Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

That's is as highly as the needle ever goes. The fan kicks in from time to time so I'm assuming the thermostat is working fine. I just timed it when I just left my house. It took 6 minutes of slow reasonable driving until it reached that point and never went any higher. Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

Thanks everyone. With regards to my first question. Does everyone's temperature gauge act like mine. As in does it warm up really quickly with slow driving and does it stay around the same temperature even after you start it up again after the car being switched off for an hour or so? Ok cool, cheers, am I right in thinking that if the last half mile or so of my journey I don't let the turbo kick in, then I can just turn my engine straight off. Loved Scoobys since I was a kid, finally got one

Hello everybody, I bought an 04 Wrx on Monday and obviously the second thing I did after buying it was to become a member of this great club. Ive read a load of questions and answers on here already and from what I can tell you all seem to be a very friendly, helpful bunch. My question is: my temperature gauge on the dash, it seems to early always be in the same spot all the time, between a 3rd and half way, even after it's been sitting turned for an hour or 2 (apart from when it's left over night and you start it in the morning) and even then, it seems to get up to temperature really quickly, like 2 minutes. Is that just how subaru's are? All my other cars have taken much longer to warm up. Firstly, it's the first time I've owned a petrol turbo and i'm all paranoid about warming and cooling the turbo down as it is, secondly - my last car temperature gauge seemed to work even after my engine overheated and destroyed itself. As a side subject, I was considering getting a turbo timer but then I thought, wouldn't they come as standard if they were necessary? I thank you all in advance Gary
